Who's Interested in a 2009 Tribute?
There's been some talk in the Holiday Challenge Thread of doing a Challenge-type tribute to artists who have passed in 2009.
I'm willing to manage the thread, but I will need some advice on best practices from Trevor, The Monkees and other experienced moderators (please PM me guys).
Anyway, here's what I'm thinking:
2-3 weeks beginning January 2 at 12:01 AM (i.e. after the end of the Holiday Challenge.
Calling it a "Challenge" seems to be in somewhat questionable taste to me, I'd prefer to call it a tribute.
Any film, TV show, filmed concert, etc. is eligible so long as the person you are paying tribute to was involved somehow and that person died in 2009. When listing the entry, you must include the person/s you are paying tribute to and their birth/death years in parenthesis.
I'd suggest a maximum of two titles per artist on each list. This is to encourage variety.
I'm against posting a list of people who died in 2009 as I think it's more interesting to see what people come up with on their own.
There's no "prize" for winning. People grieve in their own ways, so people should pay tribute in their own ways. I will compile stats on the number of people tributed and the frequency of tributed most often.
So who's interested?

Possibly interested. I'm continuing the task of tackling my unwatched pile. I'm sure I have lots of eligible titles that could be used during that stretch.

Someone else will because I have no idea who all died in 2009, as I'm sure some others don't also. I don't follow entertainment news that much.

There's a list on IMDb, but it's huge, and includes tons of people I've never heard of.
I haven't decided yet if I'll participate in this or not; I was looking forward to a break between the holiday and Oscar challenges.

My suggestion is that you keep it at 2 weeks. Mainly because the Academy Award challenge soon follows, so the people who participate in the Holiday Challenge and the Academy Award one and want to participate in this one will be completely overloaded. The Academy Award challenge will be starting later this year, at the beginning of February instead of the end of January.
I will definitely take part in this one though! Give me an excuse to watch the Batman movies, some Brittany Murphy movies and my John Hughes movies!
