No, you can only mail 8.5 pounds. 10 is too much weight. Email the buyer and ask them what DVDs they want in box #1 and what DVDs they want in box #2.

Just stack them in a box, but make sure there's no extra space so the DVDs will fit well.

Make sure to mail them as Media Mail, it is cheaper. I agree with the paper sleeve approach. Also, I keep many of the boxes I receive from on-line DVD orders for the very purpose of having decent boxes for shipping DVDs back out.

I put approximately 200 DVDs in there (there were more than I thought because of the TV shows that have more than 1 DVD). After I put the DVDs in there, the case feels like it weighs 10 lbs. Can something with so much weight be mailed? What is the maximum? Thanks.

So, you bought a $23 binder rather than $5 worth of envelopes?

I'm starting to think this whole thread is a joke, just like the questions you asked at Yahoo.

Actually you can only ship 13.5 ounces in one package. So, you're going to have send several separate packages. The best way would be a separate box for each DVD and use about 10.5 ounces of foam rubber for padding with each DVD.

God why am I even responding. Anyway, you can put 70 pounds in a medium flat rate priority box for about $10. A large flat rate is available for about $11.

Re: DVD shipping question

I asked a postal worker for you tonight, and here is what he recommended:

1) Stack all of the discs on a sheet of plastic wrap, this can be found for under $2 at any grocery store.

2) Wrap the discs up tightly and securely in the plastic wrap, sealing them tightly in the plastic.

3) Purchase a roll of white duct tape and cover the entire plastic-wrapped stack of discs in it.

4) Write your name and address and the buyer's name and address anywhere on the package. My postal worker recommended your name on the top of the stack, and the buyer's name on the bottom of the stack. Be VERY careful not to switch them around.

5) Attach $8.00 worth of stamps to the package. I would recommend putting them around the package in rings of stamps that connect, like stamp belts, basically.

6) Drop the package into any mailbox.

7) Receive positive eBay feedback.

Hope this helps!

I hope the answer garnered from that last question was useful, because you may need to refer back to it once you get this DVD shipping dilemma settled.

Awe. some. This is like the Internet version of Letters From A Nut.

A person this utterly naive could not really own and enjoy Glengarry Glen Ross, could he? Boy Meets World makes sense. But not GgGR.

Glengarry Glen Ross was the toughest one to sell.

No. The maximum weight a package can be is 7.5 pounds per the USPS website. If you need to do anything heavier you'll need to do it by ship or airmail.

Assuming a ship isn't going to do the job, which is only good for country to country delivery for the most part, you need to do airmail. For that you'll want to go to the airport and talk to customer service unless you already know which airline you want the stuff to get sent on.

Just enjoying this thread again and had to quote this for awesome.

My vote is for hand delivery. That would be the cheapest. Deliver the package yourself.

oxx2832's response:

OK, that sounds like a good idea. The problem is that to leave my house I have to have something like pants? to cover my body. Can I get those in the mail room?

Re: DVD shipping question

I plan to sell my wrestling VHSes next. I probably have 70+ of them, I more or less have every single Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam, and Survivor Series from 1985 - 2005. Again, I don't have the cases, and no it is not because I stoled them. When I bought my wrestling tapes and movie/TV show/wrestling DVDs, I never thought I would sell them, and I threw out the cases because I never used them and they took up too much space.

I wonder how much I can get for my wrestling VHSes. This forum would probably think $20 but I bet ebay thinks $200.

Are you going to ask us in advance about shipping those VHS tapes? I am sure that we can give you some great advice!

Re: DVD shipping question

Yes, how should they be shipped?

Re: DVD shipping question

I suggest opening up each VHS and removing the actual tape - it's those pesky VHS cases that will substantially add to the cost of shipping.
