If anybody is interested here is a large shot of the image - I built it in Photoshop.

Too bad I've paid more than that for all of them on release date and not having to resort to ebay. I like the tins and am glad to have been collecting them all along.

3000 probably won't last long with Disney collectors despite being $500+.
sorry dude no pre-order n not that crazy about spending $$$ in the name of pre-order.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

The date has been pushed back from the end of November to December 8, 2009. I hope this doesn't become a trend and I don't receive this until February. What a piece of garbage. Does anybody know if Disney regularly delays or pushes back the release date of their items?

Yup, just checked their website and it agrees with you. Why didn't they have the courtesy to send me an e-mail telling me about this? After dropping THAT MUCH MONEY on them one would think that they could at least send me a personal e-mail with that bad news!

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

The image has been updated on the Disney store site. Looks a little flimsier and less sturdy that the original picture. Oh well, at least the release date is still December 8. Below is the link for those that want to check it out.

WOW! You're right Imacohiba, it looks a LOT flimsier.
I wonder if you and I are the only people who are following what is happening with this set? We're the only people who have posted to this thread in the past month or so. The set will be coming out now in 3 weeks!

We might be, but it might pick up in the next couple weeks. There are only 2997 left people! Misterpeepers has one too. Any chance we'll get another Photoshop between now and the release danwiz? I can't wait for this thing.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

No, sorry, not a chance of a new Photoshop image - it took way longer to make than I anticipated. If I had known how long it would take I never would have even started working in the first one! Let's hope it's not as flimsy as it looks in the picture on the site now!

Do you check it every day? How do you happen to notice these things?

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

Not every day, but ever since they changed the release date I've been a little spooked, so I check at least once every few days. The presentation does have me a tiny bit concerned, but not too much. The discs are what's most important as I only had a few and this was my way to catch up, as I sold them on ebay.

Too bad on the Photoshop, but I definitely understand. There are definitely better uses of your time than that.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

Hmm. It does look pretty cheap when compared to the image in this thread. Prototype images always seem to look so much nicer than the final product. In a similar vein, I used to buy Christmas ornaments from a company (I think it might have been Enesco) that used to use the prototype for the picture on the box while the actual ornament inside the box looked a little chintzy in comparison. For the price, Disney really should do a better job with the packaging.

Never a fan of having to slide a disc into slots/pockets.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

I just got charged by the Disney Store, but it still hasn't shipped. Should ship tonight or tomorrow for me. So awesome. I wonder if DVD Talk will review it? The content is the same, but the presentation is CLEARLY different.

I would be surprised if they reviewed it. As you mentioned, the discs are identical, it's just the packaging that's changed.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

Yup, mine has shipped too, but my online statement does not indicate that I have been charged for it yet. I'm sure that it will show up tomorrow. Can't wait to see this, but I guess I'll have quite a wait. I am in Japan and when I ordered the set it showed that shipping was $199.99 to Japan or $4.95 to anyplace in the USA (when I entered the free shipping code). So, I went with the free shipping and it's being shipped to a friend's place who will forward it on to me. I'm sure that it will be far less than $199.99, but it will be slower than UPS too. Doubt I'll have it by Christmas, but can always hope.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures - 54-Disc Premium Collection

Anybody receive theirs yet? When I sign and click on the tracking button I just get this:

Billing information has been sent to UPS. Check site later for updated shipment status or contact shipper for more details.
It's been this same message for 3 days now, what the heck is going on?

Can't wait to see the pictures of this.

I may pick one up, but not until I see how good/terrible a job they did on the packagining.

Mine arrived yesterday packaged so well I think it would have survived a bomb. The contents of the tin are in a flimsy cardboard binder, but the discs slide in and out very easily.

Overall I think they did a nice job on the set. I wanted a complete set and now I have one. Sold my existing tins for almost $900 so the $600 (tax and D23 membership) investment was not too bad.

The Disney Movie Rewards code does not work however for me. I sent them an e-mail to see if they can help me out. I am thinking there should be a nice point reward for this set.

I would like to see some pictures of the contents also. I may be interested in selling my complete tin collection also if the set looks as nice as the other photos do.

I took some quick pictures. They can be found here:

Walt Disney D23 Treasure Collection

I am going to say I am too lazy to post a link to each pic.

Thanks for the pictures MarkHarrill, they are appreciated. So, the Certificate of Authenticity is NOT numbered, eh?! The Disney Website still shows a picture with a NUMBERED certificate of authenticity - seems like false advertising on Disney's part.

The UPS Site still says the same thing that it did when I made that post above here - what the f**k anyway?!

Definitely no number.

Now I can tell you that UPS is really slopping in scanning during the holidays. We have this come up all the time at work when customers see the interminable Billing Info Received status. Most of the time it stays like that until delivery...

Ohhhh man! This thing looks amazing. I got mine a couple of days ago, but am being forced to wait until Christmas morning to open it up. Great stuff, thanks for the pictures. That will definitely hold me off for a couple of weeks.
