When you get TV DVD season set do you watch the episodes in order?
When you get a TV DVD season set do you watch the episodes in order or do you watch your favorite episodes first?
If it's a show that's only been on a year. I watch the episodes in order. If it's a show that's second season or later I watch my favorite episodes first.

In order. Most shows I buy I have yet to see, so I watch them as they should be seen. The only shows I skip around on without watching in order would be Simpsons or X-Files so I know both so well.

In order, except for Angel. First thing I watched when I got the full series set was Waiting in the Wings. Awesome ep.

If it's serialized then in order. If it's episodic/standalone plots like a procedural drama, then I will skip around (especially if I've watched the entire season already)

Re: When you get TV DVD season set do you watch the episodes in order?
I often blind buy TV shows on DVD so of course I watch those in order.
If I'm watching a show I've already seen then I may skip episodes I really dislike (for instance when I re watched Batman TAS earlier this year I skipped Tyger, Tyger, which I remember hating back when I watched it for the first time). On the other hand if there's an episode I really like (such as the Buffy musical episode) I just may decide to randomly watch that episode without watching the rest of the season.
When I bought a bunch of Mystery Science Theater sets last year I watched each episode in the volume before moving on to the next, so I guess you could say I didn't really watch those in order.

Most sets in order. But some, such as Poirot, by keeping track of dates that I've viewed them; then watching oldest unviewed shows in rough chrono order.

I watch them in order. All episodes that begin with A first, then B and so on. When I get tired of being conventional, I'll do something daring like watching them in reverse order. Once I only watched episodes that were numbered with a prime number. I discovered when watching LOST that if you transpose the episode numbers(1 being 01) and start with 10,20,30 and so on the story actually makes sense. You have to watch episodes 11,22,33,44... twice back to back though.
