DVD's you're surprised you don't have?
when you look through your collection and your mental lists of favorite movies or movies you just really like are you struck with certain titles that you wonder why you don't already have in your collection? maybe you even thought you did, but turns out you don't.
those certain titles that get lost in the calvacade of new releases each week and you may say to yourself i should get this and then perhaps just forget...
i was thinking about seeing "New Jack City" the other day and was almost certain i had it already. i looked through my DVD Profiler, but wasn't there. i still had this nagging feeling that i had it and perhaps just didn't add it online.
so i looked through all my 1200+ dvd's scattered about in organized chaos in my basement...lo and behold it was not there. now, i have this urgency to get it and add it. perhaps soon...
and i know there are a treasure trove of others that will jog my memory soon.
so what DVD's are you surprised are not in your collection?

Jaws - Considering that all of the movies I own are summer blockbusters, it's amazing that I don't own the first, especially since I love it.

Collateral. I went to watch it the other day and I don't have it. It's even on my dvdaf page. It could be a roommate though because i've seen it far too many times to not own it. Damn roommate

The original Star Wars movies. 2001. Not a single Marx Bros. or Laurel & Hardy DVD. Slap Shot. E. T. Jurassic Park. A Christmas Story. Young Indiana Jones. And the list goes on...

La Jetee / Sans Soleil Criterion.
Because I took it to work one day, and it disappeared. Pretty pissed about that.

Lol -mine, too. Seriously, though, there's nothing that comes to mind. Barring what I can't afford to buy, there's nothing that I want which I don't already have. And that's including the rather large, and seemingly ever growing pile of still unopened and yet to be watched movies in my collection. (What can I say? I'm a sucker for cheap DVD's. I'll take a chance on a lot of movies I'd otherwise pass on if they happen to be on sale for $2 to $5.)

I have like 8 Amazon wish lists. The main one for general movies is 7 pages long. I have MMA, TV shows, cartoons, horrorfest, dragon dynasty, superhero cartoons, and box sets on seperate lists.

There are a lot actually. It seems like I'll occasionally go "I feel like watching _________ tonight" then go look at my shelf and be like "Wait... I don't have that?"
Did it the other night with Bruce Almighty. I could've swore I had it, yet it isn't on my shelf.

Talking about the original Willard in current horror not on DVD thread, I went to imdb to see who produced it. Bing Crosby Productions. Clicked on that to see what other movies they produced and who put them on DVD if any. On the list were the Amicus VAULT OF HORROR and TALES FROM THE CRYPT. At top of page picture of the Midnite Movie double feature cover. I thought WTF? Checked my MIDNITE MOVIE shelf, not there. Checked my DVD-Rs and there were the ones I made from my old vhs tapes. Can't believe I missed this somehow. Super cheesy brainfart.

The only one I can think of off hand that fits the OP's notion is Bourne Ultimatum, and I just bought that this past weekend. Eventually I'll probably get the blu-ray set but in the meantime I just noticed I never bothered picking it up and it was only $5 ($10 - GC) so I figure what the hell.

Re: DVD's you're surprised you don't have?
After looking at this thread a few more have been added to my list of ones I must get. The main one at this point is Cloverfield. I am amazed I dont have it.
