Re: The Gate SE -----> 10/6/09
I just remember one scene -- the family has a creepy old guy living with them who knows all about the supernatural. At one point, after the man makes a particularly ominous pronouncement, the father looks at the mother and says, "He's your uncle." The mother looks at him shocked -- "I thought he was your uncle?"

Wow, nice collection of special features, a widescreen transfer, for probably less than $10 on release day? Definitely a pick-up.

LOL @ super phatty.
It'd've I sort of understand, but I've never seen anyone do that before. It + would + have = it'd've.

And I agree with Willo007, along with Hardware, it looks like I might actually end up buying some DVDs this year.

Regardless of it being in widescreen, regardless of how good the picture may look, and regardless of what additional features it may have, I will absolutely not be buying this edition, solely based on the crappy, nearly non-representative cover art. What in name of all that's holy were they thinking of when they decided on this? Whose idea was it to put a random, faceless kid on the front, not wearing anything even remotely resembling what Stephen was wearing in the movie? What were they thinking when they put the monsters right on the cover?!? If anyone hasn't seen this movie before, they've got a major spoiler right there in plain view! There's no surprise now!!!
They totally dropped the ball on this one. No sale.

Yeah, pretty much.
It's a 22 year old movie. There's a certain point where people shouldn't complain about spoilers like someone saying Darth Vader is Luke's father or the Titanic sinks at the end of the movie.
If you haven't seen the movie in the first place, you won't know the movie's spoiled by the cover.
