Also of note, the Michael Douglas 4fer sounds good too.

Re: More WB 4 Film Favorites Collections on the way

Someone will have to confirm the Michael Douglas set contains the "Special Edition" as listed on the back vs. the old barebones from a long time ago. Something tells me the specs on the packaging are gonna be wrong.

I wish they'd do another blaxploitation set. They did a pretty nice job with the Urban Action or whatever they called it set. 4 more movies like that would be right up my alley

Had they not dumped "Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold" in the Archives, they could have had put that and "Cleopatra Jones" with two other titles.

Personally though, I wish they'd do a SE of "Shaft"

Re: More WB 4 Film Favorites Collections on the way

I was hoping for a Shaft SE with a commentary but since Gordon Parks died that cant happen

I am still waiting for The Learning Tree to show up.

On a kinda related note I got to attend Gordon Parks memorial since it was in my hometown and my family knew his family and talked with Avery Brooks about Parks' movies for about 30 mins after the memorial

The doubly lame thing is that Unlawful Entry is a shifting catalog title from Fox, where the disc had commentary and other extras that Warner seems to have ignored.

I'll definitely grab the Kurt Russell one, as he's one of my favorites, and I don't own any of those on DVD.

Anyone actually buy the Jim Carrey set? Based on the packaging, The Mask may have been gimped out of some extras. (I ask, but I'll probably break and just open the DVD before anyone answers.)

FYI, THE LEARNING TREE got released two days ago through Warner Archives.

I actually sent them a tweet about it (following Edgar Wright helping pressure them to get Parks' SUPER COPS an Archives release) and the guy replied back a half day later that they had just decided to release it as well.

The platinum edition of The Mask was 2 discs, so it probably has to be missing a lot.

Are you sure? DVDEmpire and the review on this very site both say 1-disc.

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/15746/mask-the/

After seeing WBShop listed all the extras, I just caved and opened, and it does indeed have all the extras.

Yeah, those must be right. I could have sworn it was 2 discs. Better test that one out.

Re: More WB 4 Film Favorites Collections on the way

In case my post was unclear, I broke and opened the set. All four are in WS. The Mask contains all the extras from the re-release edition. Dumb and Dumber is the original theatrical edition (the only way to get it). Yes Man comes with nothing, and The Majestic retains all the one-disc extras. For $10, it's not bad, since for whatever reason I just don't feel like upgrading The Mask to Blu-Ray and I wanted The Majestic and the TC of Dumb & Dumber. (I think Yes Man is pretty good too, but I already own the BD.)

I'd buy the Russell set for $10 or less.

I'm sure it had to have been one of their best sellers too. Every cult-nut I know picked that one up.

All of WB's 4-Film Favorites except one of the two discs in the Richard Pryor set are double sided.

Re: More WB 4 Film Favorites Collections on the way

I just saw Dumb And Dumber, the theatrical version, at amazon for 6 bucks. It is double sided, though, with full screen on one side and widescreen on the other.

Re: More WB 4 Film Favorites Collections on the way

FYI, I bought the Douglas and Russell ones; if anyone is worried, the Falling Down included IS the Special Edition with the extras, and Tequila Sunrise on the Russell DVD does include the commentary.

I also bought this, which slipped under my radar:

Looking at BestBuy.com, there were 2 Exclusives released the same day. The Seagal Collection you posted there and one titled "Epic Adventure"

Troy
Alexander
Antony and Cleopatra
Clash of the Titans (Original)
