Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I meant, does it say anywhere on the box or the Archives case that the PKW discs are inside? (or did they just stick the discs in the regular set)

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

On the shrinkwrap the BB set says it has PKWars as included as the exclusive. There is no indication on the Archives that it is in there.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Is Best Buy.com's $69.99 for the Exclusive a mistake or will it be that price on release day?

Yeah, the stickered $130 is their regular price for the set and their sale price is $70 - should be the same in stores on Tuesday. Whenever BB has an exclusive, it usually comes with a crazy-low sale-price too.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Wonder if I can get them to correct the price even though they were selling it early?

Sweet. I'm possibly thinking about picking up the set.

Most likely. Just bring in your receipt on Tuesday and explain that it's on sale/cheap now. They'll do a price adjustment and it's pretty standard stuff. When I bought BSG S3 at BB a while back it went on sale a couple days afterward, brought in my receipt to Customer Service and they took care of it.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....60&id=cat12098

What if I find a lower price at another Best Buy store or on BestBuy.com?
If an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com, we'll refund you the price difference from our own sale price during the exchange and return period on your product. Simply bring in your original Best Buy receipt to the customer service counter while that lower price is still in effect.

As long as you have the receipt it shouldn't be a problem.

I will now definitely be picking this up in-store at BB. With tax it comes up to $74, that is a damn good price, & I won't have to worry about the box being damaged ordering it on-line.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Whether you buy it at DD or BB this is a no brainer at this price. I sold off my Starburst series during the summer for $191 @ NewTownVideo when this new release was announced for only $150 list, knowing it would be cheaper once on sale. I hoped for a $75 price but would have easily paid in the $95 - $105 range if it came down to it. I also like the smaller footprint for my shelving and no more DVD-18s. Personally, I'll be taking it out of the box and just putting the cases on the shelf.

Great series, looking forward to watching it again.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I got my set today along with Peacekeeper Wars from Deep Discount. This thing could really have used an episode guide but other than that I'm very happy with it. A couple of the discs were slightly scratched but nothing that would cause problems.

I can't seem to figure out how to post pics or I'd post a few as well as some pics of the awesome free gift I got. < sarcasm

I did that exact same thing. It was CRAZY how much they gave me for the Starburst sets. You would think maybe they would know a nice new boxset was coming in just a couple months.

Picking up mine at Best Buy tomorrow.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Just got through watching the first 4 episodes. Rygel is awesome. I'm not missing a booklet with episode listings as bad as I thought I would.

One question - Why did they leave the little 'Dolby Surround where available' icon in the bottom right of the screen at the start of the episodes? Are those logos burned into the transfer? That's kind of annoying and I hope it doesn't go through all four seasons.

What they give per title is calculated strictly based on supply and demand. That is why once you sell them something the price goes down for the next guy.

I had the old dvds (the ones before the Starbursts), and I don't recall them having the Dolby icon on the episodes.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Had the day off from work today so I stopped by BB this morning to pick up the set. It rand up $125 but the girl had no problem adjusting the price when I told her it was $69.99. This is the largest type of BB by me & out of curiosity I asked how many sets they got & they told me 3. Me & another already bought 2 of them within the first 10 minuts of the store opening. So anyone looking to pick this up in-store right away at a BB may have a hard time if they wait.

I checked stock at my local Best Buy stores early this morning and half the stores were already out. This was before the stores were even open and since I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the store nearest me until later today I ordered one for in-store pick-up. I am glad I did because as of 12:00 noon all the stores in the earea are out of stock.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

My BB, which is one of the bigger ones and usually very well-stocked had 3 - two in the new release and one on a cart waiting to be put in the TV-dvd section.

I bought one, so they now only have 2.

It rang up as $99, but after I asked, they quickly matched their online price.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I just picked up one of these at Best Buy and it has 2 of "disc 2" of the archives, no "disc 1". I am so mad, I drove like an hour to get it. Not sure how I'm going to get the disc one because I'm not going all the way back to BB soon. Maybe I will email manufacturer.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Got one today using in store pickup, and saw two others sold waiting to be picked up as well.

For those of you who have never watched this series before, keep in mind that it is the general consensus, and I feel that this is true, that season one is much much weaker than the other three seasons. First time I watched this series I was pretty uncertain through about half the first season before I started to really start enjoying it.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I was on the edge about picking up this set but after noticing the $70 on bestbuy.com I went ahead and ordered myself one for pickup. Going to head over after work to pick it up. Never seen the series before, but I might have a marathon since I have wednesdays off.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

Didn't see any in the BB when I went there today to get the ST:TNG Blu-Ray set. Admittedly I forgot to look but was in the TV section and nothing stood out.

Then again, I STILL haven't seen any copies of Watchmen:Ultimate Cut on Blu there either other then the one they were holding for me.

But I got my copy of Peacekeeper Wars from Amazon today so now just waiting for Deep Discount to send out the box set.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I'm extremely happy to finally own this series on DVD, especially at the price I paid for it. I finally got to use my $10 in Reward Zone Certificates on this set.

Also for anyone curious, (I guess) YMMV on getting BB to match their website. Apparently they aren't supposed to and the only way to get the price on the site is to do "In-Store Pick-Up" on their site.

I tried to get a price match tonight at one of my local BB's. They told me they didn't match their site and that I had to do "In-Store Pick-Up". After mentioning that I had to drive 30+ minutes to get there, they said I could jump on my BB account and order it on one of their laptops in their sections and putting an order through.

What gets me is that they were perfectly fine in letting me walk around the store and wait for 45 minutes for the order to go through, rather than doing what most stores would do in a CS' hitch and just change the price. This doesn't speak for all BB associates or BB stores, but it was extremely frustrating.

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I've never heard of a store not price-matching the website. Usually I will bring in a printout of the item's page, but today I just told the clerk it was $69.99 on the website and she took my word for it (probably because they see me in there so often).

Re: Farscape: Why isn't it in print?

I had the site up on my iphone, but the clerk had the manager check it on their computer and he came over and walked her through the price adjustment.
She didn't say anything about it being a special thing. I can see not matching other companies' websites, but not matching their own is a little harder to understand.

My local BB had one copy this afternoon. I grabbed it faster than You could say "Can I get a 'HELL YEAH?'". It was stickered at $129.99. It rang up at the sale price of $99.99. I gently pointed out to the ditz at the cash register that their site has it for $69.99. She gave me a hard time. I made her call over a manager. He gave me a hard time too. I then politely pointed to the hugeass mural on the wall across from the registers explaining their pricing policy (the one with the 7" letters saying if an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com, we'll refund you the price difference). I took a bit of work, but I finally got them to honour the $69.99 price.
