What great classics still need to be released
I know there is a current thread about dvds that people are waiting on but I wondered specifically what classics you might be waiting on.
I'm waiting on the tv series Maverick and African Queen (what is the hold up?)

Re: What great classics still need to be released
The only "Official" Maverick DVD released was the single-disc 3 episode sampler. This was released as part of Warner's "Television Favorites" line, probably to gauge how much interest there was in season sets.
I recall reliable reports in 2003 that African Queen was being prepped for a release. Then nothing. There are, however, R2 versions available if you're region-free.

Wuthering Heights used to be on the AFI top 100, the first list. It's not quite unreleased, I think it was released for about 5 minutes years ago, but pretty much unavailable for years.
It's a couple of hundred bucks on ebay for a non-bootleg copy.

King Vidor's "The Big Parade" and "The Crowd". Sjöström's "The Wind" and "The Phantom Carriage". Stroheim's "Greed".
All of which are masterpieces.

I agree 100% on Greed, would love to see this out. At this point, throw it on Blu Ray!
Other classics I'd like to see are:
Dark of the Sun
These are the Damned
The Snow Goose (TVM)
Special Bulletin (TVM)
