The Power and the Glory (1933) written by Preston Sturges and starring Spencer Tracy. It is said that Orson Welles watched this film over and over while preparing Citizen Kane (1941). This film needs its place in history.

Oh my goodness - they should make a DVD set of nothing but old school Saturday monrning cartoons. Saturday mornings were the highlight of my childhood.

Over half the films mentioned in this thread couldn't be considered classics by any stretch of the imagination.

+1 I saw this title in Borders about 6 years ago and passed on it thinking I'll pick that up soon. You are sooo right, that thing disappeared fast! It needs to be re-released, maybe on Blu-ray.

Speaking of Warner's Archives, I was finally able to get a copy of "The Sergeant" with Rod Steiger from them. I was surprised how good the quality was and it is in 16X9!

And the African Queen. Is it really not coming this fall after all? That's incredibly disappointing.
