Of course not, Disc 4 is a feature-length documentary about the origin and evolution of the Good Burger Criterion joke, with all-new candid interviews with key personell and discussions with promenent Jokestorians and Humorologists, as well as speculation on which current movies might take Good Burgers mantle of "awful movie that Criterion would never release but it's funny to pretend like they're going to".

The digital copy is a download only.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

I too have seen this joke elsewhere. What caused the world to pick Good Burger? What is it about Good Burger's good/bad ratio that makes it the perfect Criterion gag candidate? Clearly this is a subject that needs to be studied by the film scholars of today.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

I think part of it was that the film didn't make its debut on DVD for some time. There didn't seem to be any reason for the absence, which prompted jokes that it must be being held back for something special.

One of the groomsmen from my upcoming wedding was a villain on Good Burger, I'm sure I could talk him into an audio commentary if people wanted an hour and a half of "I'm not in this scene."

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

Thanks to this thread I am currently tricking my friend into believing that this is actually happening. He doesn't check this site so he will never know. I changed the press release around to make it up to date and switched HD with blu... I also used one of the fake covers to send to him via email (hope its okay!). I'm going to see how long I can keep it going

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

As someone with more than two braincells, I would like to bring the thread back on topic. I have seen several places, (the names escape me at the moment) that there is a May, 2009 release date. All I want to know is if this is a special edition or a plain re-release.

it's a special re-release of a plain Criterion edition coming May 2009. check http://www.criterion.com/ and it will tell you the same.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

I updated my custom cover...I corrected the spelling errors I noticed (so if there are any others, please point them out to me! I looked over it several times and did not see any others) and I changed a few things on the back cover to make it look more legit, so if anybody wants to use it to fool their friends and neighbors, feel free!

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

Well, I stand corrected. Walmart and Best Buy both list a copy of Good Burger for release on May 12. However, both sites have them for under $5, so it's safe to say we're looking at a re-release.

I don't appreciate the implication that the rest of us don't have more than two braincells. And I was about to apologize for posting that picture last night...

Somebody already told you to check amazon.com. If I were a betting man, I would say that the previous release was out of print and it's going back in print, thus the new release date. It happens quite often in the world of DVD and doesn't imply a newer and better edition is coming along.

Unless you see a different title being advertised (which would say "SPECIAL EDITION") then it's likely a re-release of the previous edition that has been available all along. I do see that the Best Buy site says something about it being "dubbed," but no mention of additional features.

Nor does this site say anything about new features:
http://www.videodetective.com/defaul...blishedID=7166
And that site actually makes it look like the new UPC number is just another number for the same edition we already have.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

I would kill for a 4-disc/CC Good Burger release. Literally.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

Paramount has slowly been rereleasing every DVD in their catalog to get rid of the "Widescren Collection" banners that used to grace the front of every one of their releases for the longest time (except, of course, for the ones that weren't widescreen). I imagine that's what this is.

I doubt they ever will. Though if they do it will probably be through that Amazon DVD-R thing. They've been releasing a few older Nickelodeon shows like Rugrats.

Re: Good Burger New Edition ?

I hope they release a new version as the older version is currently OOP. I have a copy but my sister borrowed it (without my knowledge)and scratched it all to hell. It plays, but still....
