Yes, there will be a regular packaging release for those of you who like to have uniform boxes. Amazon has this version up for pre-order also, with possible artwork.

Because somebody made a post #26 and then deleted it. So there was no post #26, but the forum wanted to show you a second page because it was still in the database--just with a deleted flag--and apparently you have your forum preferences set to show 25 posts per page.

Then you made a new post #26 and fixed your own problem.

If the marketing folks meant it in jest (like a Simpsons' in-joke) irrespective of the season's quality, would that count if the season did happen to suck?

I think it might. Irony can get complicated. So if they said "Worst Season Ever" but meant it to be in jest, that would be irony. If it then turned out to be true despite their belief that it was an ironic usage, double irony.

There were still a few decent episodes, i will say that Trilogy of Error(the Run Lola Run parody) is actually one of my favorite all time episodes. I'll pick it up just for that(and the packaging!).

Although that New Kids on the Block one was horrible, and unfortunately an indicator of the crud to come.

I'd say that season 12 is one of the top-3 worst Simpsons seasons.

And as far as "uniform packaging", you can still get the head-version, as if it's anything like the last set, it comes right off the box and you're left with a regular box.

This is not a great season, but as some have said there's a few gems that make this set a keeper including Trilogy of Error and Worst Episode Ever.

Count me in as one of those "The Simpsons hasn't been good since..." folks. For me it's was around season 9. However... looking at an episode guide for season 12, I gotta say that there were more than a few pretty good episodes that season. Now season 13... oh vey.

Was that for the Krusty head though? I haven't seen any of the "head" versions at Target (except S6) since S11 was first released.

I keep waiting for another sale since I was unable to find Krusty at any Target.

Same here. I actually got in on a deal for the "head" packaging for 11, but it doesn't fit with the rest of my sets.

Umm, isn't the head packaging exactly the same as the regular, except for the removable faceplate thing? Just take it off. Voila!

Yes, for season 11 it was the same. I bought the head package because for some reason Best Buy had it 5 dollars cheaper than the regular box, and I just removed the Krusty head.

Really? I seem to recall the packaging being quite shitty behind the head. Or was it like that for all of the S11 sets?

AWESOME...Can't wait! I don't like the head packaging art very much but don't have to worry as my store never gets the heads and they didn't with Season 11 but anyways, can't wait to buy this, thanks for the info!
