And apparently in the commentary they say it's an intentional blur to make the joke (which is unfunny to begin with) seem more funny. They didn't want to give it away.
Okay. No wonder Simpson Safari is such a crappy episode.

Called FOX today. The rep was nice, but she said that they can't send out replacement discs per se... they would just send me another unopened set, which I'm not going to do. Waste of time. She also said nobody has complained about the packaging on this season, at least to her as of yet, and that DVD scratches are fine because EVERY DVD has scratches anyway.
I implore you to call, and tell people you know to call.

Well she also said the packaging has more to do with The Simpsons people than FOX, but if enough complaint calls come in, usually something gets passed on to corporate. It obviously didn't work that much with Season 11, but CALL people, CALL!

Thanks for the info! Also, never noticed they took off the "complete" line on the spine of the DVD sets.

I thought they only took out the "Complete" line because it was A. getting outdated, sets usually don't say "complete" anyone more, and B. when they changed their packaging, it just didn't fit on top of Krusty's Head.
The press release for the 11th and 12th seasons, still refer to the sets as the Complete Season even though the packaging doesn't say complete

The DVD packaging sucks, for sure. They're just trying to maximize profits, imo, with the cheaper packaging. On the upside, those plastic holders do break sometimes and cause for floaters anyhow. I like the In Living Color style packaging the best myself - too bad they never used this for Simpsons.

Skinner's Sense of Snow is a pretty damn good episode. I just think that the Treehouse of Terror episode in season 12 isn't as good as others. I think the dolphin part was flat out stupid, it just seemed that they were trying too hard. I think the first part was pretty good, but the other 2 stories were pretty crappy.
I actually didn't like Day of the Jackanapes when I first saw it. But it has improved on subsequent viewings, and that part with Krusty "singing" at the end is hilarious. Trilogy of Error is enjoyable because of the different storytelling format. HOMR has a nice Lisa/Homer story.
There are some real stinkers in this season though--Tennis the Menace, Pokey Mom, and Homer vs. Dignity to name a few.

I had no scuff marks on mine. Perfect discs. The new material is better than the last season. I'm good with it.

You're right about that third part of the Treehouse of Horror, that dolphin stuff is awful. My favorite is the Hansel and Gretel parody. A few episodes in this season I like--Day of the Jackanapes, HOMR, Trilogy of Error.

I'm in the minority that likes the packaging. I handle the discs carefully and the slick packaging is not conductive to scratches. Plus I really like the wall-to-wall artwork.
