Re: Watchmen Motion Comic DVD:..
The movie is a simplified, abridged version of the source novel with a different ending. The motion comic disc does not contain about 1/4 of the print version (namely the prose sections which appeared as backup features in individual issues). The new DVD has been likened to an audio book version of the novel. My recommendation would be to go the cheaper route and pick up a trade paperback and read that before seeing the movie. Hopefully it will enrich the experience of watching the movie.

Re: Watchmen Motion Comic DVD:..
People should definitely check out the book first but the motion comic is a great way to re-read (watch) it IMO. The artwork fills my giant TV, making each panel easier to appreciate and having it read to while being able to READ the text bubbles as well helps in taking it all in - at least I found I liked Watchmen even more after watching the Motion Comic and it LOOKED fantastic too. With the nitpick about the guy reading the girls voices aside, I think this is a great release and makes a great companion to the graphic novel.

I saw the movie a couple of days ago, and really disliked it. Wonder if I read or watched the comic if I would get a different viewpoint.
