A local store still has a new/sealed set, I might pick it up when I get some extra cash since it looks to be going up in value.

Re: Anyone Care to List Their Valuable OOP Dvds?

I had forgotten about some of these, thanks.

The pq of the Itami films is dismal considering the price hawkers are asking.
I remember when the Daimajin sets were literally $5-6 - you practically couldn't give them away for a time.

Re: Anyone Care to List Their Valuable OOP Dvds?

I routinely search "OOP" in eBay's completed auctions to keep up to date on HTF valuable DVDs. I also look at The Digital Bits upcoming DVD titles and I will sell any OOP discs before a re-issue comes out.
As far as OOP titles, I have tons of them. My favorites are...

1) All Anchor Bay LTD tins. Maniac (signed by Tom Savini), The Beyond, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Hellraiser, Evil Dead 2, Halloween 5, Repo Man, Heathers, Two Lane Blacktop

2) The Shawshank Redemption recalled 10th Anniversary with CD and book

3) Raw Head Rex

4)I Saw What You Did

5) Bride of the Reanimator (Pioneer)

Recalled? Why? I've seen it used for $21 at various locations and never picked it up.

I have a copy of Criterion's first Seven Samurai pressing with the restoration demo. Bought it at a used shop a few years back and was pleasantly surprised when the main menu popped up.

I have "The Wizard of OZ" 2 Disc SE from 2005. It has recently been going for around $40 on eBay. It's a Columbia House purchase from just over 2 years ago and ended up being FREE after a B1G1 that was recalled from their site. I only recently started watching it amid the high auction prices.

I think I'll keep it.

EDIT: includes the slipcover too!

Notorious-Criterion
Rebecca-Criterion
Cannibal Holocaust-2 disc Ultrabit
Wicker Man-Wood Box
MST3K-Vols.9&10,20th Anniversary Tin
Dead of Night-Anchor Bay

Those are the ones off the top of my head.Too many dvds to go through.

I don't really care about OOP stuff or making money on them. I just want the movies I love. It does make me mad when I find a dvd I want going for over $50. I won't pay that much for a dvd.

I have a copy of this, too - which I will continue to hold on to just for nostalgia's sake. The restoration demo isn't much but it was interesting.

And that's a double whammy - one which makes me feel less evil about downloading the torrents of these. I hear the PQ suffers from the same.

Although the 11 dollar one links from that product page it is a different version, you can tell because of the picture

Edit: And it is labeled Blu-Ray

I saw it, but there is another listing for "Halloween Extended Edition" which is what that edition is actually called, and it starts around $10. It is OOP, but chances are if there is something OOP listed on Amazon with only one available, it is because someone created that listing to create an artificially high price.

This is the exact same item:

Re: Anyone Care to List Their Valuable OOP Dvds?

Ya that Halloween: EE DVD isn't worth $93.89, like the previous post said there's two listings. I sold mine on there for about $25 a few months ago, so it goes up and down in that range.

I've sold most of my OOP stuff, only one I wish I still had was the Homicide: Life on the Streets megaset which I sold last year. I still want to watch them again but needed the money badly at the time (got about $350 for it).

Re: Anyone Care to List Their Valuable OOP Dvds?

I thought the The Natural Best Buy exclusive with the baseball cap and the cards would have value and I remember buying it on the release date in 2007 thinking it would be a hot seller.

It looked like a cool set but I was surprised there are still copies sitting on the shelf and you can still buy it at bestbuy.com.

I overestimated the demand on that one but the set looks cool to me.

Re: Anyone Care to List Their Valuable OOP Dvds?

Valuable OOP DVDs?

Spanish Prisoner used to sell for between $80.00 - 100.00 on either eBay or Amazon. However, itīs gone way down in price and can be bought for mere $11.00 or so.

This one is supposed to be very rare and very valuable:

The Little Rascals (1999) DTS Sells for around $50.00 - 100.00 ...if you can find it.
