X-Men(animated) coming to DVD

Disney is releasing 2 volumes(2-disc) sets this coming April according to TVShowsonDVD.com. Not much more information is available at this time. Hopefully they release them in season sets. Good thing I didn't order them from R2.

I always liked that series, despite not being into Marvel Comics. Hopefully, they won't have the same licensing issues that have plagued their Tick releases.

Hopefully Spider-man(90s animated) isn't too far behind.

Agreed.

I used to watch both series before I went to school in the morning. If these are season sets, I'll snatch them up in a second.

I wonder if they'll just be the same as the R2 releases, but NTSC versions. I bought the R2 versions and they did a good job of cleaning up the videos and remastering the sound.

It should be if it's two discs. The R2 releases broke the series into single disc releases--Season One, Volume One and Season One, Volume Two. Two discs should add up to a complete season.

Good to know, hope so.

Dear people,

Provided these aren't those idiotic random episode compilations that have been released for other series, please please please and I stress this point......FUCKING BUY THESE!!!!! It has taken so long for Disney to release the Marvel animated properties they have the rights to and there certainly has been a demand. Now they are thankfully offering a supply, so let's not let what happened to the Gargoyle DVDs happen with X-Men or any other Marvel animated series they release so long as they're not random episodes.

Dear Disney,

It's about time and thank you! :)

I didn't know Disney had the rights to these. Wasn't that the reason why 94-95 Fantastic Four Complete Series went out of print was because someone sued Buena Vista for releasing them?

Re: X-Men(animated) coming to DVD

I'm not sure how accurate IMDB is and I know Disney doesn't necessarily do things like Warner Brothers does. According to TVShowsOnDVD we will be getting two double disc sets. Each season of The Batman was 13 episodes and was released on DVD as two disc sets containing each episode of their given season. IMDB states that the first two seasons of X-Men are 13 episodes each and the other seasons vary in length. At the very least these two releases *should* be the first two seasons, not that it's impossible to add more episodes to the discs. Any other volumes they release perhaps would be the longer seasons divided up to a certain amount of episodes. With there being 76 episodes total these releases could very well knock out 26 episodes leaving us with 50 more that need to be released.

If Disney works their magic like they did with the Home Improvement sets which were usually 25 episodes each there's no reason the complete series couldn't be released across four volumes.

Again I want to encourage everyone to buy these sets.

We'll see if Disney actually continues to release these, they are notorious for starting a season and then stopping.

It was Marvel and it wasn't because of the FF DVD, it was all the Marvel animated series Disney had rights to. But that mess was recently cleaned up which is why they are able to release these again.

I see no reason why they won't complete this series since this is a highly requested title and fans have been waiting for literally an eternity for these to come out.

But then again this is Disney we're talking about.

Re: X-Men(animated) coming to DVD

Seasons 1 & 2 were 13 episodes each...logically the 4 DVD's across two sets would work.

For those wondering why Disney has these, they bought the rights to all the Fox shows years ago and aired them on ABC Family.

I'd like to see Fantastic Four(67 animated) released but not sure who owns the video rights. Hanna Barbera produced them but the characters are owned by Marvel. When the movies came out you would have thought that these shouldn't be too far behind.

I believe the 67 Fantastic Four is in rights hell and sadly will never see the light of day.

I usually use http://www.tv.com for TV series information.

Per them here is the Season Episode counts (goto http://www.tv.com/x-men/show/3557/ep...tml?season=All for episode titles and details).

S1 - 13
S2 - 13
S3 - 19 (skips an episode 8)
S4 - 17
S5 - 14

Good news is Cable is both in Season One and Two, and having him features on the second disc....makes me think they might be Season sets. I can finally toss my crappy bootleg set.
