Good news for bluray fans :)

Surprised that Summerslam wasn't the second blu-ray to come out but this is good overall news indeed. I think the reason why it took them this long since Wrestlemania was that Genius, who releases WWE hi-def, has been in trouble financially so maybe WWE stepped up and decided to release their own blu-rays.

i thought last year since Royal Rumble was their first ppv in HD that they would release it along with the other 3 on Blu-ray, but looks like this year they will release the big 4 on blu.

Really wanted WWE to continue releasing them since WM on blu looked so amazing.

The second WWE BR was the "Best of Smackdown vs. Raw" disc that came with the PS3 collectors edition of SVR 2009.

RR 2009 will be WWE's 3rd BR disc.

Will these be Tagged Classics? Where did you find this info? It sounds wonderful.

The day that happens, hell will freeze over. And they'd also release a Randy Savage DVD on that date.

Does anyone know if there's an e-mail address or phone number you can contact WWE through about getting replacement slipcovers? I made the mistake of buying the Triple H: King of Kings DVD through eBay, and the seller failed to mention that there were numerous stickers stuck directly to the clear plastic slipcover, which caused the design to come off the slipcover when trying to remove them.
Man, Mr. "It's killing me that I can't be Ric Flair" himself Jeff Jarrett somehow gets 4 discs, and Jericho can't even get a DVD release? I'm baffled and a little shocked and dismayed.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I have just thought of another guy who deserves a DVD almost as much as Chris Jericho.
The Big Show! Heres The Info That I Thought Of...
The Big Show: 3 Disc Set
Disc 1: The Giant- WCW & WWF (1999- 2000)
Disc 2: The Big Show- WWF/E (2001- 2004)
Disc 3: The Extreme Giant- WWE (2004- 2009)

Also Jerry "The King" Lawler
The King: Jerry Lawler- 3 Disc Set
Disc 1: NWA, AWA
Disc 2: AWA, WCCW, WWE
Disc 3: WWE

Tazz (Taz) Deserves at least a 2 Disc Set...
featuring ECW & WWE Bouts

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I'd love a Big Show set, but I fear that 3 discs might be a bit much. He did have a lot of slow matches?

What matches would you feature on your sets?

DVD Giant 01-24-09 10:27 AM

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I don't think Best Buy is carrying the 3-Disc of the Legends of Wrestling set, just all seperate. I believe the set will only be available on bestbuy.com.

i would love to see a tazz dvd mostly for his old ecw matches, when heyman pushed him as the monster that could suplex anybody and in your face style he was awesome, they could put a 2 disk dvd of his ecw stuff alone

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I think Jericho really deserves a DVD release. I've been transfering some of my VHS tapes to DVD and really enjoyed the Chris Jericho video "Break the Walls Down." I'd love to see one on Lawler too, but most of his classic footage is from Memphis and WWE doesn't own that. If/when Kurt Angle returns to WWE I'd love to see him get a DVD release too...he had so many awesome matches.

Oh my god, I was hoping that THAT wouldn't happen  I would rather see
Braden Walker ANTHOLOGY than see a Batista DVD.

Unless it has a bunch of TV matches, it's not going to be worth it. Every Batista match on ppv is still pretty available.

I could see a Batista set looking something like this:

-vs. Kane - Armageddon 2002
-vs. Shawn Michaels - Armageddon 2003
-vs. Chris Jericho - Vengeance 2004
-vs. Triple H - WrestleMania 21
-vs. Triple H - Backlash 2005
-vs. J.B.L. - Texas Bullrope Match - SmackDown! (wishful thinking)
-vs. Mr. Kennedy - SmackDown (August 2006)
-vs. King Booker - Survivor Series 2006
-vs. Undertaker - WrestleMania 23
-vs. Undertaker - Steel Cage Match - SmackDown
-vs. The Great Khali vs. Rey Mysterio - Unforgiven 2007
-vs. Undertaker - Cyber Sunday 2007
-vs. Shawn Michaels - One Night Stand 2008
-vs. John Cena - SummerSlam 2008
-vs. Chris Jericho - Cyber Sunday 2008

I'm Not A Batista Fan, But Even Though They Was In The HITC DVD, His HITC
Matches With Triple H & Undertaker Have To Be On Their, Or At least A Few Clips. Also Maybe As An Extra Leviathan (Batista) Vs. Kane From OVW Christmas Chaos 2001 Shoud Be Added.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I'm not sure if they would add HHH/Batista simply because that match is on the HIAC DVD and the recent HHH DVD. They could add UT/Batista in a HIAC out of the mere fact that it's Undertaker and Batista in HIAC. But I personally thought the match was a letdown, and I LOVED the first four matches.

Survivor Series 2000: Kurt Angle Vs. Undertaker
Royal Rumble 2001: Kurt Angle Vs. Triple H

Unforgiven 2001: Kurt Angle Vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Smackdown! 2002: Kurt Angle Vs. Edge (Steel Cage)
King Of The Ring 2002: Kurt Angle Vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan
No Mercy 2002: Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit Vs. Rey Mysterio & Edge

Edge & Rey Mysterio

I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing any Benoit matches out on DVD any time soon. WWE likes to pretend he never existed now.
