Tribes (1970 with Jan-Michael Vincent)
Return To Macon County (1975 with Don Johnson & Nick Nolte)

Ah yes, the Canadian Porky's. I had to laugh when I read that it was released as Zapped 2 in the Philippines. Perhaps Criterion will bless us with a Screwballs/Loose Screws double feature in 2009.

Alot... First thing I thought of was a legit release of Four Flies On Grey Velvet and a re-release of Door Into Darkness that won't cost me $50+. Basically anything Argento dealt with that doesn't have a real retail release

Criterion owns the rights to this one.

Giles 11-11-08 08:31 PM

got so tired of Warner's relunctance to release The Devils and bought the boot.

The Boyfriend - come on MGM get off your fat ass, and release this on DVD, well at this point on bluray please.

I really want Prospero's Books - but the only DVD release of the film is an import from Spain with forced subs on it.... come on, who owns the US rights for this??

Miramax owns the rights. I was hoping this would get a Criterion release, like Chungking Express, but according to this thread, they have no plans for it, though The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover has been confirmed as a future Criterion.

Solid Snake 11-11-08 08:48 PM

The Rocketeer Special Edition with features
Dick Tracy....ditto special features...

that f'ing sucks... the one studio that seems like that might tackle a release of Greenaway's films:

- The Baby of Macon
- The Tulse Luper Trilogy

I would have thought a studio in the UK would have released these, but no, they are just as relunctant to release films from a native UK director

I'd also love to see Criterion release the mini series cut of 'The Best Intentions' but they seem mum on the idea too

cinemaphile 11-11-08 09:33 PM

Forget anamorphic, I'm just waiting for ANY widescreen version of:
The Paper
and
Fierce Creatures
...both are only available Full Screen.

and Erik the Viking (theatrical cut) - that "Director's Son's Cut" was HORRIBLE. Cut 30+ minutes out of it and the pacing and jokes are a disaster now.

TV on DVD:
Ed
Parker Lewis Can't Lose

Mad About You: Seasons 4+
Tiny Toons: Seasons 3+

dx23 11-11-08 09:36 PM

Scavenger Hunt
No Holds Barred

I'm Still Waiting for Wall-E And Tropic Thunder wich is next week YAY...also im waiting for Hancock,Pineapple Express, House Bunny, Wanted, Narnia: Prince Caspian SE, Step Brothers HILARIOUS Flik i thought, Batman: The Dark Night, and that should conclude it for me

Rammsteinfan 11-11-08 11:21 PM

Another that STILL isnt being released is Legend of Billie Jean. Why cant we get this on DVD?!

This and complete seasons of Get a Life are my twin TV-on-DVD holy grails.

Dr. Calamari 11-11-08 11:34 PM

I'm still waiting for:

The Horn Blows At Midnight (1945)
The African Queen
Ironweed
Face Behind The Mask (1941)
Wise Blood
Sorcerer
in widescreen; the version currently available is fullscreen

I'd also like to see Criterion or Warners or at least one of the "better" companies release a cleaned up version of Beat The Devil, with extras. It's a fascinating film, and one of Bogart's few comedic turns...the story behind it's production is really interesting, and it has a pretty good cast, too.

NoirFan 11-11-08 11:39 PM

The tally so far:

Wise Blood - 3
Night of the Creeps - 2
The African Queen - 2

hasslein 11-12-08 12:17 AM

Scavernger Hunt +1
Americathon
The Super Cops (1974)
Lucky Lady

TV - Fridays
- Harper Valley
-finish Mary Tyler Moore & Taxi

Music - Springsteen, Sting, Gabriel Human Rights Tour

That one was on my want list for a long time but I discovered it was going to be on Direct TV a few months ago so I recorded it.

If it is ever released on disc, I'll probably buy it.

Yes, finish Green Acres! I would stop collecting DVDs if I could just have the complete Green Acres series.

wearemoviegeek 11-12-08 10:28 AM

I still want a 'You cant do that on Television' dvd to come out. The old school nickelodeon show from the 80's.

They were also supposed to be working on Greed, and nothing has come of that so far either.
