Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

It's being re-released the same day as the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game comes out. Given that both have the same voice actors, it's not surprising to see this occur.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

I only paid $89 for the set from Canada (had some credit I needed to use). But still, $96 isn't that bad...only when you compare it to the Superman set.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

I do remember seeing it for about seventy bucks when it was previously in print. I think I may have to wait for it to drop in price now due to the recent explosion in Criterion sales. Although I hope it won't go out of print again.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

This is ridiculous. The set is OOP again and it's going for a ridiculous amount in the secondary market.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

i am guessing it was never "back in print". prolly just found stock or something like that rather than a new printing?

Vols 1-4 were on sale at Amazon, so I picked them up for $20/ea. Am I missing any actual episodes vs what is in the boxset?

Nope. You are only missing the bonus disc and the book that comes with the set.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

They had it at Tower.com for a long time after it went out of print, but I just looked there the other day, and they said it was out of stock. I guess it's get the individual season sets, or pay over a hundred bucks on ebay or something !

No they didn't. It is classic Tower.com/Caiman.com not updating the stuff and misleading customers into believing that they have something in stock that the don't actually have. I remember several forum members ordering it from Tower and then having huge issues with getting some customer service and then their money back.

The answer was to get it when it got released again since this is the exact same thing that happened last time. Out for a quick release and then gone.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

Sorry to necromance, but I was hoping someone could help me.

I purchased a copy of the Complete Batman: The Animated Series box set, and I have every reason to believe it is a fraudulent copy.

Upon requesting a refund, the seller informed me that I would have to pay to ship the pirated set back to him, in China, which would be expensive. I insisted he pay for return shipping since he was the one selling an illegal product. He refused, so I took the matter to Paypal, who is asking for documentation supporting my claim that the item is not authentic.

In order to win my money back, I need to accomplish the following:
"1. Obtain a document from an unbiased third-party, such as a dealer,
appraiser, or an organization that is qualified in the area of the item in
question (other than you). This document should contain the following:
• Detailed description as to why the item is not authentic (i.e., how the item differs from an authentic item, how the person evaluating the item
determined that it is not authentic, etc.).
• If possible, the document should include a serial number and must be on letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the authenticating party so that we can contact them directly, if necessary.

2. Fax the documents to PayPal at (402) 537-5760 (please note this is a
United States phone number, if you are faxing from outside the United
States, you will generally need to dial 00 1 before the number). Please
include a cover sheet with your fax that includes the email address
registered to your PayPal account and the ID number of your claim
(PP-001-250-278-483). That way we can attach the documents to your claim as
quickly as possible.

3. We need to receive your fax by April 13, 2011 in order to proceed with
the investigation of your claim. If we don’t receive your fax by April 13,
2011, your claim will be canceled and no further action will be taken on
our part."

If someone that perhaps owns an authentic set, and could please take a look at the scans I have provided, and supply a detailed description as to why the item is not authentic on a letterhead that includes the name, address, and a phone number where you can be reached, it would help me greatly.

I cannot attach the URLs to the scans I made, as I'm a new registrant, but if you think you can help me, please respond, and I'll PM the links to you.

Thank you for your time.

I would think your best bet is to get in touch with Warner Home Video and get them to provide you with this sort of a letter.

Their contact information can be found here.

And in the future, don't buy anything from China on ebay. (Unless it's something like a battery, cell phone strap, etc., things that you don't care about being counterfeit/no name)

Boy, Ebay is really ridiculous on what you need to get your money back. No wonder Ebay has lost its luster as a company. Who would want to shop there when they know their site is loaded with this kind of garbage product and they still require that. If there is any chance you used a credit card through paypal then do a charge back.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

I have been looking at buying one of these sets on there and just look inside the U.S., issue I still have is there is a seller from LA who has unlimited supply so I would think that is one of those from China, I would also report the lisitng and if the seller has more to Warner as fakes on ebay, then call ebay about the case and tell them you notified to copyright holder that ebay is allowing fakes to be sold.

Re: Batman The Animated Series Complete Series Boxset

I was thinking about getting caught up on the series, something for the kids to watch instead of usual crap on TV...was about to ask if there was much of a difference between the individual seasons vs. the boxed set, and what do you know, someone went gravedigging!

I guess the decisions been made for me regardless. Stupid OOP. Shit.

It's just the 4 volumes in different packaging with an extra disc included. All 4 of WHV's DCAU complete series sets are the same way. On all of them (Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond and Justice League) the main discs are absolutely identical to the individual releases down to the disc art.

If you opt for the individual releases for all 4 series you're missing out on about 1 disc's worth of material compared to the complete series sets. The "Batman Beyond" set has that feature-length doc on the history of DC comics on it but thats available on its own. The bonus discs are literally like a 20 minute featurettes padded with trailers and promos.

I own all 4 complete series sets and I'm glad I do but if I had to replace them I could live with the individual volumes.
