a review of the 3 disc. It appears they use the same transfer of the american release, The "Krug and Company" full length feature is just a workprint that is mostly the same with a few differences here and there, and the new "never before seen footage" is
Spoiler:
Copyrighted 2008 and credited as having been sourced from Roy Frumkes' archives, this is 5-and-a-half minutes of silent footage presented in full-frame. Most of it is outtakes and alternate takes of Mari's ordeal in the woods. And yes, most of it involves Sadie performing cunnilingus on the helpless teenager. It's not particularly graphic - we basically see the back of Sadie's head rummaging around in Mari's hairy bush. Phyllis is also forced to have a go.
It seems that the extras pretaining to the fact that in the uk the movie was never seen uncut till now aren't on the new se for us.

I don't think the artwork in and of itself is abjectly awful, which is what usually makes me think cover art is awful. The font is kind of poor is the only real strike against the art as a piece of DVD cover art for something.

anyone see the docu on disc 3 "Going To Pieces: The Rise And Fall Of The Slasher Film"?

that seems worth the price of admission alone.

Its not that great. Mostly stuff that any slasher fan knows, and didn't really get into detail about much of anything

Plus it's already available anyway.

Probably will pick up the UK 3-Disc SE even though I have the R1 MGM SE

It's only about $17-20 through Amazon UK at the moment.

The first third of the trailer looked lame in that it seemed so clean-cut and studio-produced. The second third looked, pardon my French, extremely fucking stupid in that someone decided that both girls should live. The last third looked alright. Since I work at a theater, I'll probably have no qualms about seeing it for free, but I'm not holding my breath for it to be any good.

I'll double-dip...maybe. Good cover, but not for this film.

Yeah, it's only one disc. I list of the features were posted on the first page of this thread. It's missing the commentary by wes craven and other special features from the uk 3 disc. Just buy the 3 disc instead.

Looks much too glossy although I will probably go see it. Glad it isn't a PG-13.

So, what exactly is the difference between this and the old one? New transfer? Just the extras?

Re: Last House On The Left: Collector's Edition 2/24/09

I'm pretty happy with my old copy, I can't see myself double dipping for awhile.
Unless it has movie cash or some really really great extras on it....
The art for this re-release looks like a new film from front to back....
I'm sure it will trick a few people not paying enough attention to the info....

Just what I wanted to hear. I was hoping they would carry it and have it for $10.
