Eh, I won't go the route of hunting down the anamorphic transfer. I'll leave it at, 'it's incredibly disappointing a film that smashed the box office as a new-age horror film didn't get a proper anamorphic release'.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
I paid about $50 when it first came out. I tried to buy it at Wal-Mart and they wouldn't let me because I was 16 at the time, and I had to be 17 to buy it, so I walked across the street to Best Buy and bought it.

I got the 4D boxed set for less than free. $29.99 at Borders + 30% off coupon + $25 gift card a couple of years ago. It was OOP at the time, but Borders still had a couple in stock.
Which was only an okay deal, since it was a double-dip for me as I already owned the Scream CE.
That was actually the second or third DVD I bought before I even had a player. Back in 1998, that thing had a MSRP of $39.99, and it was released shortly after the barebones Scream DVD was released (which had a $29.99 MSRP) which accounts for its lack of enhanced widescreen.
Wayyyy back then, K-Mart ran a misprinted ad that had a picture of the Scream CE in with a bunch of $14.99 VHS tapes. I took it to Circuit City and had them price-match it. This was back in the days of DIVX, so I figured I'd do my small part to screw them over.
Jesus, I can't believe it's been ten years. I was barely out of college, hadn't even met my girlfriend (eight years+).

Come on, dude. Of any studio, Disney double-dips catalog titles the least. From Dusk Till Dawn, Grosse Point Blank, Scream, Armageddon, and many, many, many others are all lacking in basic anamorphic enhancement.
