I just watched White Dog for the first time and was completely floored - what a powerful, thought-provoking film. The ending almost moved me to tears. I just wish there were more extras on the upcoming DVD, including the apparently-scrapped commentary track.

Yeah, what's the story on the missing commentary-track? Why are they not including it on the disc?

The trailers for White Dog and Europa. My only major beef with the former is the occasionally shaky acting, most noticibly from McNichol. A crucial scene in which
Spoiler:
she confronts the white dog's former owner is blown by her unconvincing performance, as well as some pretty mundane, lazy dialogue.

With the strong US dollar now you could get the entire 4DVD set with Trier works shipped from Laserdisken to the US for about 25$.

okay, I'm a little peeved with Criterion, the booklet contains a spoiler pic from the end of the film, I looked at it before watching the movie... I guess it's more my fault than Criterion's but still....

so be warned.
