I'm really hoping it's something good. Besides, if it was a Steelbook, they'd just say when they announced it, as they've done in the past, wouldn't they?

Who's offering the SE for HIAC?

Silvervision doesn't have it listed as a feature. WWE usually has the "night after" as a feature, so if it wasn't on the "Night of Champions" DVD, I don't think we're going to be seeing until they release a Punk DVD someday.

I read its coming out in November.

Last month there was a survey on WWE.com for people to vote on their favourite Starrcade matches in each era; NWA era, WCW era and Monday Night Wars era. It was for WWE 24/7 that will air in November but it could be also for the DVD as well.

A Starracde DVD will be awesome, i hope they include Flair/Vader and others like Bret Hart/Goldberg (historical reasons for being Harts last match), Scott Steiner/Sid (again for historical reasons being Starrcade's last main event ever).

Picked up Great American Bash 2008 and 2007 in a double pack at K-mart today for 14.99...Great deal.

sg2386 08-19-08 02:06 PM

i am guessing the extras for Summerslam will be the exclusive interview with HBK and his wife after SS was over (it aired on RAW last night) and probably the cutting edge segment with Edge and Foley.

WWE should start adding better extras for their ppvs. I remember Royal Rumble 2003 had awesome extras like the moments from Rumble matches, lots of interviews and the over the top rope challenge match from RAW.

I guess they want to get the DVD out in a month so they don't spend time including memorable extras. I wish they did though.

Hopfully Summerslam will get a Blu-ray release since it is the biggest ppv of the summer where Wrestlemania is the biggest ppv of the year and got a Blu-ray release. So it makes sense.

Completely agreed on all counts. Those three have to be considered some "lost classics" (even though only the first is good. Believe it or not, though, Hart/Goldberg was not his last match. His last match was against Kevin Nash in January 2000, right before Souled Out.

Did the Braden Walker film cell come with it?

If you want a non-WM ppv that has good extras, I strongly recommend Vengeance '05 and '06. '06 is a pretty bad event, but it has an entire extra disc of segments from RAW leading up to DX vs. The Spirit Squad, Foley/Flair, and I think two bonus matches.

Vengeance '05 is not only one of the best ppvs of 2005, but it has two awesome features. One is a match from the RAW after the show; a six-man tag featuring Christian, Y2J, and Tomko vs. Cena, HBK, and a mystery partner. It's a short match, but I marked the hell out when the mystery man came out.

The other awesome feature is a segment shot exclusively for WWE Homevideo. I won't spoil it, but it's a three or four minute scene giving closure to the HHH/Batista feud. It's a really poignant, powerful scene, and wraps up the feud nicely.

Wasn't the Vengeance 2006 bonus disc a UK-exclusive? Correct me if I'm wrong.

sg2386 08-19-08 04:02 PM

I've got both, and i agree that those events had some great extras, i especially liked the fact they included the 2nd disc with extras for Vengeance 06, would be awesome if they did that for some ppvs in the year. Would probably benefit for the events that weren't as spectacular. But this year WWE has been on a role with their ppvs, i think the only "average" ppv was Judgment Day or Night of Champions, while the others have been great/awesome.

I just miss the fact that WWE hasn't put good extras on ppvs for a while now. I think the last "non WM" one that was good was Royal Rumble 2007, but that was only for the blockbuster bonus disc, which had some rare RAW/SD/ECW gems.

The Vengeance 06 bonus disc was available in Canada and US as well.

Royal Rumble up until One Night Stand have all been good to excellent, even Judgment Day had to be the best presentation of the show since 2002. For me, the streak ended with Night of Champions and Great American Bash. Those are two ppvs that could have used some real good extras.
