At any rate, I'm sure that your order will work out fine.

Really don't know to be honest. I just didn't think the extra 3 hours was worth the extra five bucks I guess. I'm glad that people have had success in ordering with them. I was worried for awhile.

Don't let one bad experience stop you from ordering from HighSpots.

Nah, I'll still order the Flair shoot from them. Ordinarily, I manage to get most of my wrestling dvds from ROH though so HighSpots isn't quite as big a deal to me as it used to be.

CaseyB 09-20-08 07:17 PM

Has anyone picked up the Kurt Angle shoot that Rob Feinstein did? I don't like Feinstein...so I might have to get it used. :) I guess Kurt was trying to make nice with Vince, HHH and HBK in the shoot to possibly get an offer to come back when his contract expires next year. TNA is also releasing a Kurt DVD with an interview and matches. I'd like to see WWE release a Kurt DVD since he had so many awesome matches there and I know they'd do it right.

I picked it up. I haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet though. Hopefully, I'll sneak it in sometime this week.

I picked up the Angle shoot, but haven't had a chance to open it.

Also pre-ordered the 4-disc Flair from HighSpots.

Check out the new Toyfare magazine for pics of the KANE and UNDERTAKER busts with the FYE - Hell in the Cell DVD set. Kane is a lower # and UT is (I think) only 5,000 made.
Your best bet if you want one is to go to the store and place a pre-order so they will get them in stock.

I picked up the Mr. Perfect set last night, and despite only having watched the Hall and Hennig tag match, the "Rap is Crap" video, Hennig-Taylor with excellent Foley and Cole commentary, the '98 Souled Out Bret-Hennig match, and the "Perfect" vignettes, I've already gotten my money's worth out of it. The set starts off with a Flair set plug, which includes a lot of gorgeous entrance shots without any logos in the way, and the vignettes are...something else. They're effective debut vignettes at first, and then morph into being incredibly homoerotic the second the Genius shows up in them, as he tends to stare longingly at the um...perfect package.

The editing at the end of Taker/Edge from Summerslam flat out sucks. I think WWE should re-release the DVD with the footage that actually aired at Summerslam, and not this edited crap. BTW the edit is when Taker goes for the chokeslam off the ladder. They start showing a bunch of stupid Undertaker symbols, and the 3 girls that were in the American bad ass video, and then a clip of worms, and some other random Taker clips. Then you hear JR say the same comment about four times before Taker finally hits it.

Do you mean the chokeslam off the ladder, at the end?

Oh, and does anyone have YouTube footage of this?

Eriecke23 09-21-08 02:30 PM

yeah the chokeslam sorry.

what the hell! that sucks, i think what aired at Summerslam was fine as is, they shouldn't have edit it.

Why can't WWE just leave the ppv as is for DVD release, i understand editing botches, or swear words but adding footage or clips that never even aired on the ppv is pretty stupid.

I remember for the WM22 release they actually toned down the "Cena sucks" chant, i remember it being a lot more louder and more vocal when watching on ppv.

CaseyB 09-21-08 05:23 PM

I don't like the edits or blurs either. I didn't see the ppv, but the finish sounded so hokey...maybe I'm crazy, but I don't care for those gimmick finishes. If Edge needed time off couldn't he have just been "injured" instead? Guess it doesn't matter anyway...kayfabe has been dead for years.

I'm glad I have the live airing of WrestleMania 22 on a DVDR.

Cactus Jack 09-22-08 10:48 AM

OK, so to clarify the UK Hell in a Cell Silvervision DVD exclusive, I emailed them today and it is a "cleaner slipcase with embossed chain links, also individually numbered."

http://www.silvervision.co.uk/images...WE1199DL_L.JPG

sg2386 09-22-08 01:56 PM

if the 2 exclusive Hell in a Cell DVDs with Undertaker and Kane mini busts will retail for $69.99 each, it damn well better be worth it.

That will likely be the most expensive WWE dvd (excluding Anthologies) released to date. The ones (including myself) who will buy both will be forking out $140 plus tax.

I'm probably going to import both from a seller i know in the US, just waiting to see how they look like.

Quack 09-22-08 05:35 PM

So where would be the cheapest place to get the Summerslam box, wait out for a 40% off Borders coupon perhaps? I punched in a 30% one and I think it came to 138 or so after tax I think...probably my best bet I would assume.

Starrcade dvd back on

From pwinsider.com

Jim Ross posted on his website www.jrsbarbq.com that he was in New York City today working on an upcoming Starrcade DVD, so it appears the title was simply postponed again, not outright canceled. Ross will also be hosting Starrcade segments for an upcoming 24/7 project.

chuckliddell 09-22-08 10:53 PM

i really hope the starrcade dvd is a great 3 disk that covers most years, maybe if it sells big they can do what they did with ecw and release a whole bunch of "best of" dvds but vince seems to have a grudge against wcw, especially 96-98 when they beat him in ratings

also on a side note i really wish wwe 24/7 was a regular channel, i get angry that its so good with so many great stuff on there every month and i dont have access to it, especially when u could make your own tapes or dvds of the best stuff on there, its like getting a whole bunch of great dvds every month, i love watching old ecw and wcw stuff

also i would love to see a best of nitro or some sort of best of wcw done, not just a complete biased view that was on the monday night wars dvd

some of my favorite wcw moments
-fall brawl 96 fall brawl 97, classic nwo vs wcw stuff and great undercard
-world war 3 stuff
-ddp dressed up as la parka
-rodman shows up on nitro and takes over with nwo for first time
-100th show of nitro, first 3 hour special, lugar vs hogan for title
-any of the great cruiserweight action
-nwo vs sting and wcw and everybody else from 96-97
-nwo takeover of nitro right before starrcade 97

so many great moments and stuff, if they released a box set of nitro(i know it will never happen)i would buy lots of nitros from late 96 all threw 97, i believe that show at its peak was the best wrestling show ever, 98 started to go down

i think over the years its only gotten better watching that old stuff seeing how they dont release much old wcw footage on dvd and it feels like its more special, hopefully they release the starrcade dvd and it sells huge and if theres one thing vince loves its money so maybe he can get past his grudge and give wcw its dues and not just focus on its downfall

i also read jr said some people are going to be angry over the match selection, i fear that vince will make a mockery of the starrcade dvd and purposly put it in the ground, i hope not

sg2386 09-23-08 03:14 PM

i was looking at the information for the Best of IC title dvd and it says it will be housed in a Digi-stack, is that the same packaging they used for the Best of WWE Championship DVD? if so those book type packaging seem to be very fragile when opening, feeling like it will rip apart. But anything is better than the cardboard sleeve packaging they used for the Summerslam anthology.

I can't see sales being high for this dvd set. At least not amongst younger fans, considering how WWE have wiped their asses with that title for the last five years. I don't think fans see that as anything special anymore. When I was a kid, the IC title matches were the ones I looked forward to. Those guys were the ones usually having the best match on a card headlined by a 10 minute Hulk Hogan stinkfest.

SilverVision in the UK have redesigned their website, and there's a big sale going on at THIS LINK.

Quite a few bargains there, you can save £18 on the RAW XV four-disc edition, and I just ordered the Tagged Classics of IYH:D-Generation X and IYH:No Way Out for £8.99.

fyebonusdisc 09-25-08 04:03 PM

it is probably misinformation, but wanted to pass it along... in the November calendar in the back of the new WWE Magazine, they list the release of a Chris Jericho DVD on the same day that the No Mercy DVD is to be released (first Tues of Nov).

They look great but I'm not spending $70. :(

I just picked up Divas Tropical Pleasure from SecondSpin for $12-ish. Now I just need Vengeance 2002 and Divas in Hedonism. (And still Raw Homecoming but I'm holding my breath.)

are u sure thats the confirmed match listing for the new eddie dvd, some of that stuff on disk 4 doesnt make sense

also if it is true than one thing that sucks is way to many matches from his final few years, why not spread it out more, put more ecw and wcw matches on there, i hate how wwe and vince always puts more recent matches on instead of using there deep library, how bout some eddie matches from japan
