Highspots.com issue

On June 16th, I placed an order with Highspots.com. For those that don't know, it's a pro wrestling/MMA site. I ordered the Ring of Honor: Redemption dvd. With shipping, it came to a grand total of $25.04. 3 days later, on June 19th, I received an e-mail from them stating that Redemption was currently out-of-stock and that they would ship as soon as possible. My credit card was immediately charged for this item.

5 weeks later, the item was still not in stock. I sent them an e-mail stating that I wanted to cancel this order and obtain a refund for the $25.04. At the same time, I canceled a pre-order that I'd made with them as well. I didn't receive an e-mail confirming anything so I contacted them again. This time, I received an e-mail that came across as rather rude.
"Yes, I wrote you about this already twice today, we will issue a refund as earlier discussed."
I assumed this meant I was all set so I checked my account to see if a refund had indeed been issued. This was on July 26. In the meantime, the dvd went back in stock at Ring of Honor's website, so I placed an order for it through them.

Now, on August 2nd, I receive an e-mail from them stating that ROH: Redemption has shipped. A week after I requested a cancellation and a refund! Needless to say, I'm not very happy with them. They've placed the burden of obtaining a refund in my hands. I'm probably not going to bother and just throw the extra dvd on eBay or something. Which is most likely what they wanted anyway....me to just suck up the loss.

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys a heads-up when ordering from them.

I hate to hear that you're having such a crappy experience with them, but I guess any online retail site will have screw ups every now and then. I've never heard anything negative about their service before, so they are usually on top of everything. I've dealt with them a few times in the past and I've never had a problem with them.

I'd contact them again, tell them that you're going to refuse the shipment and once again ask for the refund, or something like that. Try giving them a call at 1-704-364-7818 and see what they have to say.

Their offices are closed for the night. I sent off another e-mail in hopes that we can resolve this issue quickly and painlessly.

All etailers screw up sooner or later. It's how quickly and favorably they resolve the screws that defines the quality of their service.

I've never had a bad experience customer service wise... until recently. I emailed them asking a question about something questionable they were doing (with Benoit DVDs) and told them I thought it wasnt cool. They emailed me back saying "your business won't be missed around here." And I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with them. So... I won't be ordering from them ever again.

A friend of mine had the same hassle with them while pre-ordering a DVD and ordering a book that was out of stock. It took about 6 weeks but he finally got it cleared up after many emails and phone calls.

I sent that e-mail on Friday evening and have yet to hear any response. I might try giving them a phone call later in the day.

I mentioned in my original post that I'd also canceled a pre-order. That was for Ring of Honor: A Night of Tribute. They listed it with a note saying it would ship in 3-4 weeks. This is another of ROH's out of print dvds so I was curious as to how Highspots would fill the order but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. A month passes and I haven't heard anything from them. I sent off an e-mail questioning them about it and received a response that basically put all the blame on ROH. They told me to "note that the "problems" I was having were related to ROH dvds". Meanwhile, they're the ones listing a dvd that is out of print from the original manufacturer for sale on their site! Two weeks after that contact I received an e-mail telling me they were out of stock on it and that I could choose another item to replace it or wait for it to come back in. That's when I canceled the order and began this other process.

Did you ever get to call them? What did they say?

I'm just curious, that's all.

I never did get around to calling them. After seeing their apparent indifference to last week's e-mail, I'm not going to bother. I'll take the loss for now and try to sell off the dvd down the road. And I'll definitely not be buying from them anymore.

They were selling them at jacked up prices because the guy said "I could just be selling them on Ebay" and was basically accusing me of wanting to make money or something off them myself... I already have the DVD, just didnt like the fact they were trying to cash in themselves, but hey... thats the American way, right? So they can kiss my dick on any future orders (and orders from my friends that buy wrestling merch).

I've ordered a ton from them. Just recently a few japan converts best of's. The only problem I can really report is them sticking my bret hart wwe doc dvd in a bubble mailer. I emailed them and told them I didn't appreciate the way it was packed, spent extra on shipping and was kinda hoping it would be boxed and they basically gave me the tough shit attitude.

I know full well that not all dvd's survive in the shipping process. Shit does happen and to tell you the truth, not sure why I emailed and complained. I guess it was a mixture of me being pissed at myself for not going to FYE and buying it mint off the shelves or maybe I was hoping they would send me one of those special gift certs to there best customers.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has had some issues with their customer service department.
