I noticed that all of the two-disc special editions are now out of print. I only want the first one and Returns, but I noticed all of the Burton/Schumacher movies are out of print. And considering there's a brand new Batman coming out, you'd think they would have it in print or reissued for all of the sales it'd get.

Will they be reissued again, or are they trying to act like this franchise didn't exist (and I can understand Batman And Robin, and even Forever to an extent, but the two Keaton/Burton movies were excellent) just like they've done with Ang Lee's Hulk?

I only bought the 1989 Batman, wish I would have picked up Returns too. Dang.

They will probably be rereleased (and on blu-ray too) when Dark Knight comes out on DVD

I think they are being re-released on DVD and and also on Blu this fall. Probably around the same time as The dark knight.

They did the same thing in 2005 when Batman Begins came out. The Batman films are big sellers, especially the first 3 films, they are not leaving these in the vault for long.

I think it's odd that they'd wait until the fall when The Dark Knight comes out to do so instead of right now when the movie is coming out and there's all the hype and magazine covers (since they're doing a special edition of Batman Begins to tie with the movie). You would think the DVD's would sell even more when a new movie is out in the theater vs. a new DVD release. I just think back to last year and how Harry Potter DVD's were flying off the shelf when both the last book in the series and Order Of The Phoenix were being released.

It looks like eBay prices are in the 20's for a sealed copy. So thats not bad. There didn't seem to be a lot of them up for sale though.

Picked them up new at Rasputins a few weeks ago for $12.99 each. Well the first two movies. Almost got Forever but doubt i would watch it more than once. They had em used for $9.99 or less.

... And it sold within about 4 hours of my listing it!

I'm still pretty pissed off -- I went through my collection and sold off a few titles that were a little worn, I've become better at taking care of my DVDs, and I wanted to pick up some nicer, newer copies, and so I sold my Batman Anthology set merely a few weeks before it went on moratorium.

I just gave away a sealed copy of Batman Returns and am about to give away the 2 disc original Batman. Maybe I should eBay it instead. I just trash 100+ DVDs to charity and friends and family last week and expect to be equally ruthless in coming weeks. Time to clean house!

It seems like I read on a site elsewhere that Warner is prepping a Blu Ray release of these films, but those may not hit until sometime in early '09. By the way, if you can score the set, do so. "Batman & Robin" is worth buying if for no other reason than Joel Schumaker's on-camera apology. The second best bonus feature for any of the four movies is on "Batman," which sets storyboards for a deleted scene to some of Elfman's score...with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill voicing Batman & the Joker!

The "Legends of the Dark Knight" documentary is another plus. One of the few DVD featurettes/doc's that I revisit from time to time (Narrated by Mark Hamill)

I didn't even know that they went OOP as well. ...Returns had been in my wish list forever.

You arent missing much. They have gone down hill a little bit. Maybe its their own fault. They only offer .50-1.00 per any used DVD pretty much. I took in about 10 used newer movies all in mint condition a week ago and they offered me $11.50 store credit! I took them over to FYE and got $23.50. The one in Newark is gone now and the one in SLZ appears to be the hot spot. Everyone is there selling stuff. They do have some good deals and hard to find used stuff but selling there is not an option. Highest Prices paid in cash should be removed from their signs.

I've always wondered how Tim Burton's Batman movies would've progressed if they weren't derailed by by Joel Schumacher. Obviously Billy Dee Williams would've been Two Face but I read Micky Dolenz was being considered for Riddler as was John Malkovich. Both interesting choices. Its funny cause WB fired Burton because they thought the Batman series was too dark yet Nolan's is darker than them all and the most profitable.

I'm surprised to see these out-of-print now, and I'm kicking myself for not picking up Batman and Batman Returns. Good condition, opened copies of Batman going for over $30 on Ebay. I hope these are re-released.

Damn. I remember when they had the first 2 on sale at Best Buy for $4.99...I think it was last year. I was holding out thinking I'd get the boxset.

I'm actually really surprised that Warner Brothers is okay with loosing a rather large amount of revenue by not having theses on the shelves. Think about all the impulse purchases stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal Mart, and Target are missing out on, if they could have had the titles in stock to coincide with "The Dark Knight."

Didn't WB do a similar thing with the Harry Potter movies? They went OOP and then came back when the new HP came to DVD.

I really hated to part with mine. I bought them at Sam's club for 9.99 each two years ago, and still had em new in the wrapper. Just haven't got around to watching them.

But I couldn't resist selling one on Amazon for $60 bucks! I just sold Batman Returns for 39.99 as well.

I want to say that I'm sorry I never got a chance to pick them up, seeing as how I liked the first three films, but after "The Dark Knight," nothing before that seems to matter as much.
