I am torn over which version to keep and which version to sell. I am a huge Disney fan and have been collecting Disney DVD's since they first came out. I have built up a lot of duplicates due to double dipping from Disney. I have decided to thin the collection down and get rid of double.

Toy Story is the only one I am torn with. Here are the 2 options.

Option 1

Toy Story: The Ultimate Toy Box
- Really cool box that holds all 3 discs
- Really good special features and the most special features


Option 2

Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition
Toy Story 2 - 2 Disc Collector's Edition
- Superior picture quality
- Superior sound quality (DTS track)
- Most of the special features from the Ultimate Toy Box but not all


What do you guys think?

I'm leaning towards 10th anniversary and 2 disc special as it has most of the stuff from the toy box and superior picture and sound. Its hard cause i love the packaging for the toy box though.

Get rid of all your duplicates except this one. Keep both just so you don't have to torment yourself. You can justify it to yourself by saying that not all the features were transferred over to the newer release, and both have positives enough to keep both. You can also say that if one gets damaged you still have a copy of the movie.

Is having two copies of a movie such a bad thing?

I would love to keep them all but room and $$$ for my wedding are more important. These will eventually all get replaced by the eventual blu ray release so in a way I dont know why I am stressing over it. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

To be totally honest I barely ever watch special features I am just having a hard time letting go of a cool Disney Boxset.

option 2 cause I am a sucker for better presentation and dts sound. the extras are only bonus...
and in case you are wondering I have both Ultimate Toy Box, and the 10th Anniversary and 2's Special Edition.

I'd keep both. I seriously doubt this one will make or break space and funds for the wedding. But, if you HAD to only pick one option, I would suggest keeping the Ultimate Toy Box, simply because it is no longer available in stores. The 10th Anniversary and 2-Disc Special Edition can still be found in stores for a reasonable price ($13-20, depending on the sales going on), so if you ever did regret getting rid of them, you could just pick it up later on down the road before they go OOP.

Thats what I am leaning towards.

You made the right choice.

I like how the 10th anniversary and 2-disc look together....good choice! That and I never had the Ultimate Toy Box, I just had the dual disc release, which I gave to my little cousins when I picked up the latter.

I had the Ultimate Toy Box but sold it for a nice price. Ended up getting the 10th Ann discs and am happy with those. Think you made the right choice.

Either way once the blu versions come out I will be upgrading and getting rid of the dvd's so I went for picture and sound over special features I honestly wouldn't watch.

I don't know where you guys can tell a difference in the picture? I have the ToyBox and the 10th version and played both on my 42" Sony Wga and my friends 70" DLP and we cannot tell a bit of difference in the picture on the disc's.

D'oh. I'd have said sell the SEs and have the Toy Box because it will be of minimal, but slightly more value, as a box set, when you finally upgrade to Blu.

I had the same problem a year or two ago. I just said screw and did this:

Kept the Toy Box Case.
Kept the bonus disc from Toy Box.
Put the Newer SE in the box.

I gave the extra discs to my brother. Now thats an Ultimate Toy Box.

I agree, I love the 10th Anniversary sets.
