^ OMG I can only dream of having a collection like that dkedvd. How long ago did you start that collection? Also, out of all those dvd's, can you remember what was the first one you owned out of that collection? Would just like to know out of curiosity's sake. :)

Started in 2001. The first DVDs I went out and bought all at once were all the Tim Burton & Quentin Tarantino films that were out at the time. One of the only times I've paid full price for movies. LOL!

Hey All,

Here's a link to my collection. Don't want to post up all the photos and clog up the thread. Thanks! My Collection

Thanks for sharing the pics. I really like your particular set-up. What kind of shelves are those and where did you get them (if you don't mind me asking)? Thanks.

Thanks for the info hehe. :) At that time we're those movies by Quentin and Burton like 30 bucks a pop? Or was that more when DVD's first came out say in 99?

The 6 big ones are Atlantic. I bought them at Best Buy, and the 2 thin ones are from Ikea.

The best part of all this is I got bored tonight and rearranged my collection again so now I'll have to get a new picture up already. LOL.

forceuser13, is it my understanding that all of your cases are displayed empty, and the discs are all kept separate? Just curious how you came about this system. BTW, nice, neatly organized collection.

I love looking at your pics, dkedvd. My only request would be to allow us to zoom in or re-size. I want to get my dirty little eyeballs all over your multitude of spines...

Hi Dick Laurent

Yeah. When I went to college I transferred them all to portable cases. Now, I pretty much do it out of habit.

Some of the stuff are in the original cases - speciality titles, NFL etc. Complete Series sets tpp.

Thinking of transferring over some of my collections back to their cases (Criterion, Lord of the Rings etc.).

We'll see.

Thanks for the feedback!

That's how I've always had my collection organized, even if stuff doesn't match up.

Yea... I'm torn between keeping the entire collection alphabetical or as I have it now, alphabetical by case type. Having the entire collection alphabetically is great for being organized but it looks messy. However by case makes the collection look clean and it just displays very nicely, but then you can have something like all three films of a trilogy in three different spots. So its a double edge sword to me.

I would transfer it all back. There is only one way of storing DVDs. And that is in a proper case. This way they "float"'. I've even gone out and bought slim cases for all my titles that have discs that come in sleeves (IE: Simpsons season 11). If all those DVDs of yours are in sleeves they are just begging to be scratched. I cringe when I see things like this. -eek- Please for the love of the DVD God... Transfer them all back! -pray-

LOL. I update the pic every month or two for my DVD website. It just happen to get updated within two days because I decided to reorganize it. If I had know I was going to I never would have posted the pic two days ago. Its not my fault that I care so much about my collection that I'm constantly taking pictures of it as though it were my child. HA! rotfl

Nice setup, tdoane! Nice bar setup, is the beer tap worth the money for the upkeep (cost of keg + maintenance)? I hope to have something similar one day, theater & bar.
