WTF?!? I thought these stupid things went away years ago. So did Engadget's staff for that matter.

They're definitely not viewing our kind as the target market for this product, but one has to wonder where they found the data that supported trying this failed idea again.

I love how easy it is for a company to act high and mighty about it's product being available for recycling when it's pretty clear that the main motive of said product is that people can watch it and throw it away.

Price tag: $4-$6. Or go to Redbox for $1. Or don't leave your home at all and use Netflix/Blockbuster. Or download legally from the 360 marketplace (or similar).

In short, there are a myriad of other options that are far superior to this one.

It's so funny how they didn't give up on this once it became possible to get around the self-destructing part (which involves doing things we aren't allowed to talk about here). I got the "Noel" disc as a novelty, this is the intro from it:
