For everyone who reads this - When you are done updating your list, if you would be so kind to put something somewhere in your list post that says something to the effect that you have finished updating your list, it would help A LOT when I start really compiling the top X lists for viewings. There is a decent amount of manual stuff I have to do that Excel/VB can't handle without me modifying peoples lists slightly.

Thanks!

Holy crap! I watched a combined 102 episodes of Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica, and I'm not sure I even made the top ten.

What the frak?

my list's done, but I know I have no chance of winning a prize since they are others that saw a lot more than I did. I'll post some random thoughts and opinons on the films, at a latter date and time.

Thought I'd be able to squeeze in one more movie last night but ran out of time. Oh well.

I'll post the rankings and stuff in this thread. Should have it done tomorrow.

It might be prudent to wait a few days before doing the rankings. There are quite a few people who haven't finalized their list yet (including myself).

Trevor - I can't believe you made it through all 9 seasons of X-Files, both movies, and lone gunman all in a month. I looked at your list a couple days ago and you weren't even close to the end. I shouldn't doubt you after your showing here and in the Holiday movie challenge. Wow.

Incidentally, I think you may want to take a look at your numbering again. On 98 you watched two movies. On 101 you watched two movies. Also, the Dark Knight does count (right after 101).

I only updated every other day or three, but tried to keep seasons in the pending section as I started them. I feel bad that I just watched and didn't keep up with my comments or list, but overall I've been in a anti-social funk and just stayed on the couch. I better get that thing professionally cleaned.

I took the 31st off and watched about 20 hours to make it thru the X-Files. I was obviously obsessed on finishing the whole series. Initially, I was going to try to do all of Millennium as well, since it was occasionally lightly connected, but I didn't have time.

Overall, I think I averaged a fairly consistent 7.5 to 8 hours of watching a day.

Ok so I need to confirm Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Do they count? Or Not?

Unless anyone adds a ton of stuff, I'm going with Trevor for the win.

So, the question I have for Trevor is, do you prefer Fantastic Four or Farscape? I'm not talking about DVDs but just in general, what to you like better?

I think in the grand scheme of things, we're all winners!

Seriously, nice job Trevor! Hopefully the sci-fi challenge was somewhat helpful in getting you through your difficult time.

I know, I know.

I had a secret goal that someone would try and do something like finish all the Star Trek stuff but X-Files works just as well.

WTG, Trevor!

I would have been able to watch a lot more, but we've had family out here visiting for about the past 10 days, and it really cut into my DVD watching.

excuses, excuses

shit, I had other obligations as well, seeing 7 plays at the DC Capital Fringe Festival and the 2hr and 45min 'Lion King' at the Kennedy Center - what always surprises me is how dedicated people are to these challenges, I try but ugh.... at my age, I'm beginning to cherish my sleep more and more, as well as losing a good twenty pounds - I don't eat crap food, but an exercise regiment is a definite priority. - oh well, there's the Horror Challenge in October

My secret goal was 100 (I made 76.) I had something going on I think every weekend but one...I even had a few days where I didn't count anything. With the Cubs on the road, there were a lot of night games, so I lose at least 2 hours to watch them (Gasp...Yes, my Cubbies take precedence over DVDs!) If I would have had the weekends, I could have snuck in 100.

Ashamed to admit that I've never seen any Farscape. Always meant to get season 1 and give it a try, since I obviously like sci-fi, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Like Fantastic Four fairly well, own all the recent movies and most of the cartoons.

And since we're asking random questions, which ST, Original or TNG?

What surprises me is how my 7-8 hours per day wouldn't even make the top ten in the horror challenge. We have dedicated horror fans at this site.

Speaking of sleep, I think I've trained my body to get less sleep. I didn't get more than 6 hours any night in July, and usually I love to get 8-9, at least a few days a week. And in the two nights since the challenge ended, I can't sleep more than 5-6 hours. I don't think this is a good thing....

My original goal was 31, so I passed it. I was on pace for 70 early on, but I wasn't able to keep it up. I was too busy to watch any at work, plus with Sci Fi I wanted to watch them on my good TV rather than on my computer. Plus with the movies so long compared to Horror, it was harder to get one in before I fell asleep in the morning when I get home from working nights. It was definitely fun. Anyway, I'll have more comments when I collect my thoughts.

Get back on schedule as soon as you can. I get about 5 a night (kids/early work) and when the weekends come around I can't get any extra, no matter how tired I feel.

I envy your Sci-Fi watching skills, I struggled to almost reach 40 this month (and it was sadly mostly TV).
