Get the bowling ball. $23.99 from Amazon is a good price for a cool collectible, although I'd like it better if it was the size of a real bowling ball. It doesn't look like it is though.

I never found Fargo to be near as laugh out loud funny as The Big Lebowski

I picked it up today. Surprisingly (to me anyway), the ball is actually numbered. I have #07767 of 50000. Here are some pictures:
I actually feel that on one hand, it's not very well made. The plastic feels cheap. If they had just done thicker walls on the hollow part of the ball (even if they didn't make it solid plastic) it'd be weightier and probably feel better, and the discs, if you can't tell, are slid into cardboard pouches, coaster style that just are taken out of the ball. I'd have preferred digipak style trays on the interior of the ball.
On the other hand, I expected to pay $35, but Best Buy's price was $26, so I don't feel like I spent too much of a premium to get it. Too bad though, it could have really tied the room together.

Err!! I forgot about the limited edition this morning when I was at Best Buy. I'm going there tomorrow morning and return the regular one and pay the $12 or so more for the limited ediion one.

I agree, the plastic is a little cheap, but I got it for the look of it. In the plastic case, it looks nice. Watched the DVD tonight, and since I already have the older version, I'll put it up and probably never use it again. Just a nice little display. Happy with the purchase though.

The special features are top notch. The two featurettes on Disc 1 and the Photo Book featurette on Disc 2 were really great (about 35 minutes of footage, maybe a little more). It may not sound like much, but it's all great. Definitely the special edition I had been hoping for, although deleted scenes and a cast commentary would have been icing on the cake.

Also got the bowling ball. Debating on displaying it with or without the plastic case that it comes in. Right now leaning towards just putting out the bowling ball and packing away the plastic case in the closet. How are you guys displaying it?

Anyone having trouble finding this in stores? I wasn't too intent on picking it up, but I figured while I was shopping for other stuff, I'd keep an eye out for this. Neither version was anywhere in sight at Target or Wal-Mart.
