I loved this show, I would definetely buy this on release day. After the original actors of the show left the series faltered a bit I thought. But the first two seasons would be a definate buy for me. I'm going to write down the possible release day now.

Seems the date has not been formally announced. In my excitement reading the article, I thought 6/13/08 was a possible release date. Sorry if my header was misleading.

Still, I would LOVE to revisit this series. I have fond memories of it as a 12 year old sitting in my parents basement on Saturday nights waiting for this to come on. I hope this comes out.

Terrific news. The first season contains the David Cronenberg directed episode as well. I agree, it started going downhill in season 3, but hopefully all three seasons will show up eventually.

Sounds to me like the studio is trying to gauge interest in this set. I suppose signing up for the pre-purchase plan is like a vote for its release and if they don't get enough people they will let the project die. I'm also guessing I can cancel the Amazon order later in order to buy elsewhere if cheaper.

I'm sure dozens of bootleggers are quaking at the thought of no longer being able to gouge horror fans for this series at conventions. Personally, I've never seen it.

I just saw a post on Bloody-disgusting.
Is this worth a blind buy? I've always heard about this show but I never caught it. I'm looking forward to the DVD.

I was only 15 when this show was on and sporatically watched it while in High School. I do recall being a fan of Robey (Micki)

This is the only television show I want that I don't already own. I loved this show and it has been at the top of my want list for some time.

I don't know why they would want to tie this into that bastard of a remake, it has nothing to do with the movie series....unless Michael Bay is making the remake a movie version of the TV series!! Which wouldn't surprise me since most remakes nowadays are just NOT remakes, they simply take the title and make up some random story (i.e. April Fool's Day, Prom Night, etc.)

I don't know if I've ever seen a full episode of this. I remember tuning in and being disappointed when I found out there was no Jason. That said, I'd probably spring for a complete set since I've heard so much about it.. so I'll wait.

Awesome!

Now just give me Monsters and Tales from the Darkside and I can recreate my Friday nights when I was about 7 years old.

$20 for the entire series is gouging?

I'm just glad that I'll be able to upgrade to the official release. It is a great series that was hampered by a lame title.

FYI, it has nothing to do with the movies. It ran for 3 seasons in syndication.

An old antique dealer made a pact with the Devil to sell cursed antiques. When he dies, his store is inherited by his niece Micki and her cousin Ryan. With the help of Jack Marshak, they fight to retrieve the antiques from the people who bought them to stop them from causing harm.

What was the benefit to the dealer in making this deal?

Wealth and Immortality. The Dealer eventually got tired of being the Devil's Beotch and broke the deal and the devil took his soul.

So the dealer got tired of being wealthy and immortal and decided to burn in hell for eternity instead?
