Watership Down (questions about the UK TV show)
This is not a thread about the 1978 movie.
Apparently, there was a British TV series in 1999 through 2001. This I did not know. Two DVDs (in Region 1, anyway) have been released -- Escape to Watership Down and Journey to Watership Down.
So, a few questions for anyone who can shed some light on this:
1. Is this 39-episode, 3 seasons series an adaptation of the novel or is it some sort of "Further Adventures of Hazel and Fiver" with all new stories?
2. Do the two DVDs include all 39 episodes between them?
From what I can tell, the answers are "it's an adaptation" and "the R1 DVDs include only selected episodes," but if anyone can provide more definitive, first-hand answers, I would be much obliged.

There also a third DVD, Winter on Watership Down. It was either more episodes or a holiday special based on the series iirc.
I have them all at home somewhere. If no one else answers you I should be home and able to scan thru the titles this weekend to give you more info. If you still need info and I don't post back soon, just email me.
Also, on a related note, I just recently purchased a 2 disc SE of Watership Down from R(2?).

Those 3 discs only have a few of the episodes.
There is a complete box available of about 13 discs that has every episode.
I think the series is based on the Tales from Watership Down sequel book.
