Theres no news on future shows on Blu-ray.

What i think is they will release Summerslam and Survivor Series this year on Blu-ray and possibly next year all shows will likely be on Blu-ray.

I suppose I could see WWE pushing a dvd feraturing a current superstar more than they would The Rock's dvd, but I wouldn't go so far as to think they would sandbag it. The most important thing to WWE is their bottom line, and I doubt they would release a dvd featuring The Rock if they didn't think it would make them money, nor would they release a dvd and intentionally see to it that it didn't sell well. It just wouldn't make financial sense.

The delay for the Starrcade dvd seems official now. Found this on a website:

WWE's Best of Starrcade DVD has been delayed until November.

I hope since its 3 disc, maybe the 3rd disc can include a complete Starrcade ppv or maybe if theres an exclusive 4th disc having a complete ppv. That would be pretty cool but i doubt that would happen

Dave88 06-14-08 08:03 PM

What Starrcade would they include though? The 1st one would be ideal!

Doctor Zoidberg 06-14-08 08:17 PM

Personally I'd rather they cancel the Best Of Starrcade completely and put out an anthology set. And to you people with WCW stuff on DVD, I am jealous!!!

deto 06-14-08 08:49 PM

it's easy to find online, my dude.

Repeating the previous rules:

The thread is to have a discussion on all wrestling DVD related topics.

There is another thread, which I have to update, that has the upcoming DVD releases.

For weekly wrestling discussion, you can go to the Sports forum at DVDTalk, where MovieExchange keeps a very nice weekly thread with all the news pertaining to pro wrestling. He even has Pay Per View contest!

Don't post active ebay auctions. Don't talk about bootlegs. Don't threadcrap. And please keep general wrestling discussion on the Sport section of DVDTalk.

Let the talking begin....

What do most of my fellow Canadian collectors do in regards to WWE new releases Now granted we got the Rock dvd at the same time as the US release. And I`ve other releases that were the same but more often then not I can`t find most the ppv`s until 2 or 3 weeks sometimes longer than the us release. Do most of you order the releases from the states, if so where do you usually order from? Also does anyone know the Canadian release date for Backlash? I usually check HMV's site but they are changing everything around right now. Thanks

For most ppvs and superstar DVDs i wait til KOCH releases them in Canada since its alot cheaper the day of release (especially HMV). But there are some that i ordered from a seller i know in the US; mostly the FYE TIN exlcusives and got all the Blockbuster 2 disc exclusives as well.

As for Backlash it was released last Tuesday with WM24 and the Rock DVD. The HMV i got it from only had 1 copy that day, and since then they haven't gotten anymore. Futureshop and Best Buy don't have them either yet.

Throwback once again a sweet set up dude. Have you ever considered adding the UK and Japanese Exclusives to your line up?

jackepstein 06-16-08 03:50 PM

Heads up everyone...
The Complete Summer Slam Anthology is around $130 shipped at dvdplanet after the 20% coupon (it applies for the discount as the date was not entered correctly... 8/8/05 instead of 8/5/08). By far the cheapest price I've seen anywhere on the net.

deto 06-16-08 04:24 PM

they don't charge till it ships, correct?

Any places out there I may get lucky and find one of these? I never picked up the Trish 2 disc & I'm regretting it :(

Man, I wanted that. I would of paid for it too :( I can't seem to find it anywhere :(

ThomaMon 06-16-08 05:29 PM

Been away for a while, been very sick. But i am back now.

Just my personal note, I'm tired of them limiting releases to 3 disc sets. If a set deserves a 4th or 5th disc why not do it? They wouldn't have to charge that much more for one extra disc, and it would be well worth it.

Why not really do a retrospect of Mr. Perfect and include everything in a 3, 4 or even 5 disc set? Charging $30 to maybe even $40 would be well worth it if it included everything. Heck, some of the sets came with 4 discs with the bonus and they didn't charge anymore for that.

WWE, DO IT RIGHT! :)

How realiable is dvdplanet? Just wondering.

It's a sister company to Deep Discount, so decently reliable.

doctaheath78 06-17-08 12:03 PM

I was just on the bay and on completed listing for Wrestlemania 24 Tin there seems to be 2 versions. One from FYE (which features the wrestlers) and another one just showing the sun. Anyone can let me know if there were 2 tins and who the 2nd tin was an exclusive to?

The FYE tin had a cardboard slip of the wrestlers, but when removed it was the sun cover. It's possible that cardboard slip has been removed or that any other place selling it never included the slip.

sg2386 06-17-08 02:18 PM

Well technically now the WM24 TIN is not a FYE exclusive. All stores in Canada are selling it with the TIN and also inside includes the WMXIV senitype. So much for the "only 5000 exist" line.

I knew there was something up because when the WM24 tin pic was posted there was no "FYE exclusive" sticker on it like the others that were released.

Hey there, I normally don't post here unless its a Pick 'Em contest, but I have to tell you about this deal I got at Gamestop. I went to the one in my local mall. They normally don't have anything of interest, but this time I found the jackpot: Unforgiven 2001, Summerslam 2000, No Mercy 2001 and......

Undertaker: This Is My Yard. I have been trying to find this one for a long time and I finally got it in perfect condition.

They had the Buy 2 get 3 deal so I also picked up No Mercy 2005. Each was about $9.99 each, so I got all 5 for 20 dollars plus tax. So about 4 dollars each. They had some others, but there rest I either already had, or had no interest in.

BobSchlapowitz 06-17-08 06:26 PM

RE: the incredible collection pics posted on this page.

The WrestleMania X7 film cel thing autographed by HHH makes me wonder one thing. Do you think they blurred out the WWF logo even on the film cel? -wink-
