South Park Season 11-8/12/08

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Sou...Season-11/9495

I was planning on buying th imaginationland dvd, but it sounds like all the episodes are included and for the first time the season set will be uncensored.

Sounds like they learned a lesson from Family Guy! Now if they could have full commentaries on all the episodes and maybe even make the episodes different from what aired, they'd have sets that would be miles above Family Guy.

Did the Imaginationland single disc have extra material that wasn't in the episodes themselves?

Imaginationland was expanded, and it was also presented in non-amamorphic widescreen. The original episode were shown full frame, and that's probably what will be in the season set.

I've heard that Matt and Trey are in a "race" with Matt Groening and plan to keep SP in production at least until The Simpsons go off the air. Personally, I'm fine with that, I think seasons 11 and 12 are the best since season 8 (not that 9 and 10 were bad, but they weren't as consistant)

Hopefully forever.

Season 11 kicked some serious ass and I'll be at Target on my lunch break to snap the special cover!

So does Season 11 have all the Imaginationland material as the single release?

That won't be hard. Matt & Trey have way less work to do in order to keep up. South Park puts out what, 11-16 episodes? A year. The Simpsons put out 22 episodes a year.

And it only takes a week to make an episode of SP, they will work right up until the day before it's supposed to air to get it on. I just heard that on one of their commentaries.

They are contracted for 14 shows a year. Two 7-episode seasons in the spring and fall. I think 14 episodes a year, while it seems shortchanging to the fans, is beneficial to the show. SP is in season 12 and there have been some excellent shows in the first half of the year. Season 11-12 was around the time that people felt like The Simpsons was really going into decline. 14 episodes is enough a season that the show remains fresh without danger of "filler episodes" (even tho there have been a few in the past few years, but it's a small percentage)

Anyone else have a problem with Disc One in this set? I bought this at Target yesterday with the lenticular cover and tried watching the first disc when I got home. Everything on the disc seems fine except that episode 4, The Snuke, will not play. I tried it on five different players with no luck.

Yup - same exact thing happened with me (bought from Best Buy).

It first happened on my stand-alone dvd player - it wouldn't play the beginning of that episode and would skip to the 3rd chapter or so. I'd rewind it from there and it would struggle to play that section, and would pixilate, and skip ahead to where it could play again.

I tried the disc on another dvd palyer - same story. I tried it on my blu-ray palyer (PS3), same thing. I tried on my 360 HDdvd add-on, and it played flawlessly. So there you go...

the stand alone disc release also, I think, featured the episode in 5.1 audio.

Oh, I agree with everything you've said. My point is, is that it will be way easier to outlast the Simpsons when you're doing half the work!

The HD player for the 360 was one of the players I tried it on...Wouldn't play at all for me. I just ended up extracting the episode to the computer and burned it to a DVD-R. Was able to watch the episode and commentary just fine after that on my regular player.

Nope. I had no problem whatsoever with that episode or any episode on disc one. I got mine at Best Buy. Sorry to hear that, just take it back and exchange it.
