I used DVDProfiler for almost a year now for free. It was great, even though it limits you to what you can do. I recently broke down and purchased the license, and I LOVE IT! I customized the display to have a bigger view of the covers, and the features it has are amazing. I'm still learning what all I can do with it. Right now, I'm in the process of placing a picture with each actor's name. With a paid license, you can upload your collection to view it on-line via their website. It also seems that their catalog is huge and updates are frequent, both in catalog updates and software. If you try out DVDProfiler and like it, get the license. You will love the high resolution pics that can only be seen with a license. You can also back-up your data, which makes it easire to reload your collection onto another computer or restore your collection database. You can input dvd's via upc, title, and by inserting the disc. I usually use the title, and then I match the upc with the one I have. Inserting the disc is a crap-shoot because multiple releases of the same movie will only bring up one version of the dvd, and you might have a different one.

You can save yourself a lot of time by importing them. Read this thread over at Invelos to get the details.

I think you have that one mixed up. Putting your disk in the drive will find the correct profile. There may be other versions of that movie in the database, but why would you care?

I've been using it every day, including right this moment. No problems at all.
