Inventoring your DVD collection?
I use to use DVD Tracker but I think they are out of business?
Any good free sites for keeping and printing out your inventory? |
Welcome to DVDTalk.
Others will say this in a much more abusive manner, but you should learn to use the search function for things like this. We usually have this topic come up once every 3 or 4 weeks. BTW, my suggestion would be DVDSpot.com |
i believe the word you're looking for is 'inventorying'
I use DVDSpot and DVDProfiler.
DVD Profiler allows many ways of printing. By using a user-defined tag, I can view my collection by unwatched movies. I can then print out that list and use it as a handy reference.
Excel and VideoList Plus from wakefieldsoft.com (PDA app).
Dvd Profiler is by far the best, but not free 29.99 lifetime, but well worth it. I never thought Id purchase a program like this but once I did Id never go back.
Just don't pay for Delicious Library unless you want to wait forever for an update thats never coming.
I use Profiler and DVD Aficionado. I keep DVD AF up to date and I'm probably months behind on Profiler.

I'll throw another vote towards DVDSpot
DVD Profiler
DVD Profiler - I bought my license for $29.99 several years ago. Have never been disappointed except for a while when they seemed like they were going to drop the ball, but then they came back bigger and better than ever. Of course I also use MS-Excel, but I'd hate to try and do the kind of job in Excel that DVD Profiler does for me.
For DVD Profiler, do you have to enter them by UPC or something random? I know I was interested in DVD Spot, but when I found out that each of my titles had like 5 different SKUs, but were the same edition, I gave up on that and stuck to DVDaf.
But DVD Profile sounds good from the looks of things. |

You will find that some titles have multiple UPCs, even for the same version, which is why I enter the UPC to make sure it's the correct one. I think some Paramount titles have different UPCs for each security strip type. |
If you are using a Mac, DVDPedia is the way to go. I have had it for 2 years...best one I have used so far.
DVDSpot all the way for me. I like accessing it online wherever I'm at.
DVDSpot is my choice. Great, easy layout and stat listings to boot.
DVD Spot and DVD Af for me. I was loyal to DVD Profiler until they required you to pay to do anything useful, and I got tired of their software limitations.
DVD Spot is my weapon of choice.
I used to use DVDAF, but they've gone down the shitter. |
I'm all about Ant Movie Catalog. (I even use it to catalog my music collection as well)
DVD Spot.

Thanks guys - especially MovieExchange (I agree on your search suggestion) and riotinmyskull (it was a typo).
I tried DVD Spot but never could post an avatar so I gave up. Besides, not being able to print out my listings, defeated one purpose for wanting it. I admitted to being an internet dummy unfortunately many of their forum posters agreed..and let me know it. (G) I may try DVD Profiler but will wait until bedtime to try and download. Unfortunately I only have dial-up connection (only thing available in my area other than going via satellite.) |
