ThriceDamed,

How often do you get to make use of the stadium seating? Nonetheless, SWEET! It's a thing of beauty to have stadium seating in your house.....

TallGuyMe,

I do my best marketing work when surrounded by books....I can't imagine how creative I'd be if surrounded by DVDs in that serene environment. Very nice.

Better view of the riser and in-built subwoofers:

Nota bene: In a few of the photos there are strange "dots". It's the fault of the camera, not something that is actually there.
i thought that was the dharma logo.

nice room there i like the idea with the built in subs.

Amazing. Some of you have little Blockbusters in your home.

Quite often actually

I have many friends and relatives who enjoy coming over. I'd say that I have more than 2 people over at least a couple of times a week.

Thanks for the sentiment

The in-built subs really kick. It's good stuff, although as I'm fairly heavily into art-house, foreign and classic cinema, I don't utilize them as much as I should.

TallGuyMe - What kind of cabinets are those in the second picture? I have been trying to convince my wife to go along with a setup similar to this. They almost look like kitchen cabinets.

They are 3 different separate standard cabinets pieces obtained from the local unfinished wood place call the millstore. The four cabinet on the left are one premade unit, same with the four on the right, with the corner piece in the middle. All were raised up a bit, bolted together, then tiled over with white tile. Much cheaper than having custom cabinetry installed.

I recently expanded my shelves, so heres some new pics:

BTW, here an explanation on how I arrange my TV on DVD Collection. Complete series are the start, then its in descending order, by number of releases. For example, 10 seasons of South Park, 6 seasons of Smallville, 5 Seasons of Alias, etc, down to 1 of 30 Rock for example. Just the way I like to do it, as it keeps the look changing, when a new release makes that series move up the shelf.

Bottom shelf is Blu-ray obviously, row above is Dragon Dynasty, and custom spines for Van Damme, Jet Li, Seagal, Lundgren movies

Blu-Ray winning changed the landscape. Gone are the X-Box 360, and HD-A2, hello PS3 & PSP. Same 42" Plasma, with HD DVR, and Yamaha HTIB

And now Comic Stuff:

Silver Age collection, many years and some lucky deals

Yup. It a Snake Eyes sword

Do those Dragon Dynasty DVDs come with slipcovers? Also, what Region are your 24 DVDs, 'cause I can tell they aren't Region 1.

And now Comic Stuff:

I hope you have all those high dollar comics out of direct sunlight! I like the idea of hanging up comics as decorations but I shudder at the thought of hanging up my 1968 Ironman number one.

But anyway, real nice setup. Did you ditch your 360 altogether or just set it up in a back room with the rest of your HDDVD stuff?!?!

Take care all!!

The 24 DVDs are in small 8 disc cases, with downloaded custom artwork. Those old Fox cases are huge, and all different sizes! I did the same thing with Alias, and just made a personal custom for Painkiller Jane, cause retail art is fugly.

A few of the DD come with slip covers. Killzone, City of Violence, and a few others.

Not enough DC fumanstan

Yes the comics are away from sunlight! Its just a pain now to find old Showcase Sealers.

As far as the 360, I ditched it. A friend who I do all my online gaming with (who also had a 360) we decided to both go PS3, and since most games aren't exclusive anymore, I sold it. My parents have the HD-A2 for up-converting.

Thanks guys!

I hope you didn't get rid of your Xbox 360 for that reason. (Being that HD-DVD lost).

No, I got a PS3 for blu-ray, and as a casual gamer decided I didn't need 2 consoles, that essentially have all the same games. I'm not a hardcore Halo of Gears, player. The only thing I'm missing is Uno and Ninja Gaiden 2

Sting...could you take closer (and more) pictures of your "24" DVD cases? Are they custom? If so, from where?

Yeah I actually had the old 24 Cases, the thick and shitty ones. But one they released them all as slim cases, I just went to a store and traded them, I much prefer the slim ones. I knew someone at the store so my outdated receipts didn't matter. But I like the way you have it a lot, might try something like that myself, especially considering Season 5 sticks out like a sore thumb by having the Silver/Circle 24 Logo and not the Seven-Segment Display like the other 5 seasons do.
