^ $34.99 is a great price for this set, so I say grab one up. If I didn't already own the previous trilogy in the metal sleeve I'd be getting this one in a second.

I picked it up at fye.com for $36.99 and there is a $10 rebate on it.

There are 4 deleted scenes, nothing amazing. But the picture and sound quality is great on this disc. I was watching it upscaled on a 50" RSP and it looked great, I really don't regret not getting the BD version.
I tried doing the digital copy thing but it wouldn't allow it, I assume because it is not released until tomorrow.
Is this RAMBO: 1ST BLOOD PART 2 better than the transfer of the 1st dvd that came in the tin sleeve?

So, do we know for sure what is on the 1 disc DVD?

I saw the 1 disc version this morning. The only extra listed on the back is the theatrical trailer. This is not the first disc of the 2 Disc set with the audio commentary and all the other extras...I was hoping that it would be since I was not interested in the second disc of the 2 Disc set with the digital copy of the movie as it's only contents.

Don't know I'm afraid. I saw that version a while ago on a 32" widescreen CRT while now I have a Sammy 50" rear projector. Also have totally different DVD player now. So I really couldn't give you an honest answer.

Just popped in Rambo:First Blood and the extras are as follows:
3 deleted scenes.
Sly commentary
Writer commentary
English DD 5.1
Interactive "survival" mode

Had a quick go on the "metamap", it was pretty shit! crap graphics that don't really show anything.

Does the Complete Collector's Set come in individual cases, or in a digipack?

I'd like to know this, too. I have the Ultimate Editions and, frankly, most of the extras suck. But if the extras from the Special Editions are ported over, I just may double dip on this set.

Otherwise, it'll just be the 2 disc Rambo for me. I'll believe (and buy) the director's cut when i see it.

This is the 3rd RAMBO set. Is the transfers of sets 1 & 2 the same and is in this one?
Or are there new transfers of the 1st three movies in this set?
How are the transfers of the first three movies?

Ordered mine from Amazon as they seem to have the best price and customer service if there's a problem with anything.

I hope the metal box and fold out digipack inside don't come beat up all to crap. I'm kind of picky when it comes to things like that. Has anybody had any problems with the packaging aside from what scott1598 mentioned above?

Oh good. Maybe they'll fix some of the crappy CGI blood and guts too.

What I was saying was that the 2 disc of RAMBO is really more "bonusy" than the 1 disc edition. That the 2 disc version isn't just the digital copy...it's the extras and commentary, too.

the 1 disc is movie only...not even the commentary.

Can anyone confirm if First Blood has the Morrell commentary or not?
Some reviews say it's on there (IGN) - some do not (HTF.)

Was not there on my copy, although the paper insert indicates that it should be there (and I understand that the Morrell commentary is present on the Blu-ray). The DVDs for the first three movies seem to identical to the Ultimate Edition discs.
