I'm distracted by the duplication of Mike, but I agree that it is better.

A quote from Tarantino seems to be well placed, since McSpaced is soon upon us.

Not anymore. It's been axed.

DVDempire has this up for pre-order for $24.99
I just placed an order with this, Chuck:S1 (also a %50% pre-order price), a criterion, and 2 other titles and used the $15 off a $95 coupon. Worked out pretty well.

The new artwork is a huge improvement. I already preordered my copy and I have to say the price was better than I thought it would be.

At this point I wouldn't order anything if you are still on the fence. You might be better off waiting for final reviews. Then again if you preorder it at DVD Empire and also order something that doesn't come out till maybe August you can check the box to have it ship as one complete order. Then you will have time to read the reviews but you'll have the preorder price locked in.

DVD Talk has a review up, Star Wars music intact. Can't wait.

Does anyone actually know if the music is unchanged?

I read the DVDTalk review and it seems as if it is but I'd really like to have good solid information about what music is changed and all that jazz. Yes, I know the Star Wars music is there.

I'd just like to know if all the original music is intact before I buy the set.

Since there are definitely reviewers who have the set who were already fans of this show, and nobody has bitched about any changes to the music, I don't think it's worth worrying about.

Anyone been able to find this yet? None at Best Buy. Figured they had sold out early.

I got it at the signing. Virgin Megastores in NYC seem to have LOADS.
That's me amongst gods:

I'm done with one season now... Music is unchanged as far as I can tell & the new commentaries are quite funny.

Kinda hate the neutered cover artwork (compared to the original UK version), but it's nothing a case-swap can't fix.

Been watching it tonight, and so far, so good on music...

Has anyone bought this who already has the R2 version? Is it worth getting both, just for the new commentaries?

i have both. but that is because i am a DVD whore! couldn't tell you if it is worth it just for the commentaries, but that is all it would be extra. generally, i wouldn't buy it again since the R2 does have everything, but i like my R1 DVD player better...and...i am a DVD whore!

I have both aswell, obviously to support this. I've just got through the whole series with the new commentaries and they are VERY entertaining (even more then once going over the same stuff with different people).

Don't forget that there is a lengthy Spaced Reunion Q+A on the third disc that is also exclusive to the US DVD release.

Can't wait to finally own this set. It was the only reason I ever considered getting a region free player but I just never could fully talk myself into getting a new player for one set.

Kevin Smith, Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and a couple others are going to be signing Spaced DVDs at Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash (in Lazer Blazer on Pico) in LA today starting at 12:30.

I guess there's a screening of Spaced at the Arclight tonight as well, but Kevin thinks it is sold out... worth checking into though.

I wish I could go, but I can't... stupid work.

blind buy for me (where have I been?). anyway, I love some of the more recent BBC shows like The Office and Extras so I have really high hopes on this one based on what I've read.

Well, just FYI, it's stylistically nothing like those two shows (both written and directed by the Gervais/Merchant team). It's more comparable to their films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
