unless I'm completely wrong -the only thing "uncensored" is the language.

I was wondering this myself, besides why didn't they just release season 11 on dvd instead, don't they usually do that before the new season premieres.

This looks like a waste of money to me. They're just trying to cash in on the success of the episodes before they put them on the season set next fall.

I guess the commentaries in this release are still "mini-commentaries" in that they dont talk throughout the entire episode but they do run on longer than the usual 3 to 5 minutes that we usually see on an episode.

This is the closest we'll ever come to a second South Park movie.

No, it wasn't.

It's been announced for at least two years now that Parker and Stone's next two films are My All-American and Giant Monsters Attack Japan.

If Paramount was going to make a sequel to the original South Park movie, the public would've known.

I'd be willing to bet we'll get everything this dvd has to offer on the season set. If I'm not mistaken, the only extra on one of these rip-off releases has been the Spirit of Christmas short that hasn't made it to a season set.

The way I heard it is that the Imaginationland story was a possible movie, but they ended up making it TV episodes instead. So it's not like they made the movie but then cut it down for TV, but it was possibly going to be a movie at one point.

that's what Matt and Trey say in the commentary.

why would they uncensor the individual release and censor the Season set release?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

(as in, "oh, you want it uncensored? guess you'll have to buy the separate release! tee hee!") (also, the season sets have always reflected what actually aired, if i'm not mistaken)

I noticed that the disc was widescreen. I wonder if the next season will see a high-def release. I know they've been trying to remaster/reconfigure all the previous episodes in high-def.

I also noticed over the weekend that while the disc is widescreen, it is not anamorphic. WTF is the point of that then?

I see that the South Park: Imaginationland DVD is an "Uncensored Director's Cut". So does that mean that the Imaginationland episodes on South Park: Season 11 are the "theatrical" versions show on TV? Thus making it worth picking up the Imaginationland DVD is you already own Season 11? Thanks!

I have both but haven't noticed much of a difference other than the aspect ratio- the 5.1 sound mix is unimpressive and they still have the breaks where the episodes end instead of having it be one continuous feature. They also should have given it the proper title: Kyle Sucks Cartman's Balls.
