Hitman: 3/11/08

Hitman will be released on March 11. 2008 courtesy of Fox.
One of the worst movies of 2007 IMO.

Only way I'm getting this if it's a 2disc with a shit load of features, as Fox usually delivers on.

Even a 2-disc deluxe edition with a 1 hour documentary and 2 commentaries couldn't get me to buy or rent this movie. It flat out stunk. I was glad that I saw it for free with the movie cash coupon.

Ditto, but since it's Fox, a 2-disc unrated version will probably be on its way after this release (if they don't do it at the same time).

Yeah it was cool seeing her nude, but I was bored for the most part and Timothy Olyphant was horrible as the lead.

Definitely rent it if you really want to watch it. For the most part, the movie sucked, but I would give it a C or C- for some decent visuals and good gunplay sequences.

It wasnt the worst movie ever made but its definitely should have been DTV. Could have been better with a slightly better script and a different actor. He did look like a cancer patient and not a hitman.

Really? Worse than BloodRayne 2, Farce of the Penguins, Epic Movie or Ghost Rider?

I didn't think it was that bad. Mundane for an action movie but certainly not the worst of 2007 (IMO).

Anyway, I'll just Netflix it.

Fox Plots 'Hitman' Blu-ray for March

In an early alert to retailers, Fox has set a March arrival for the action smash 'Hitman,' which will come to Blu-ray in a never-before-seen unrated cut.

Scoring nearly $100 million at the worldwide box office, the Timothy Olyphant-Dougray Scott starrer will debut on Blu-ray in a new 94-minute unrated cut on March 11, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD.

Tech specs are set to include 1080p video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio, along with French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and subtitle options.

Due to the early nature of the retail announcement, the disc's supplemental details were not yet available, but an official media release is expected shortly -- we'll keep you posted.

Fox has set a suggested $39.95 list price for the Blu-ray.

Special Features confirmed:

In the Crosshairs Featurette
Digital Hits Featurette
Instruments of Destruction Featurette
Para-Ordnance P18.9 Featurette
Blaser R93 LRS2 Featurette
M16 Featurette
FN F2000 Featurette
Micro Uzi Featurette
M240 Featurette
Settling the Score Featurette
Deleted Scenes
Alternate Ending
Gag Reel
Portable Digital Copy of Hitman

It also looks like this might be a 2-disk set and the 2nd disk will include the digital copy of the film. Head on over to DVd empire to see what could have been nice cover art if it didn't have the "Digital Copy-Special Edition" plastered on the top.

First, 20th Century Fox has just revealed the DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Hitman on 3/11. The film will be available as a single-disc edition in two versions - a 93-minute Theatrical Edition and a 94-minute Unrated Edition (SRP $29.98), each with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio (the Unrated version also includes DTS 5.1). Extras on each include 4 deleted scenes and an alternate ending. Also available will be a 2-disc Hitman: Digital Copy Unrated Special Edition DVD (SRP $34.98) will include all of the single-disc extras, along with 3 behind-the-scenes featurettes (In the Crosshairs, Digital Hits and Settling the Score), 6 Instruments of Destruction featurettes (Para-Ordinance P18.9, Blaser R93 LRS2, MM16, FN F2000, Micro Uzi and M240), a gag reel and the Digital Copy version of the film compatible with Macs, PCs, laptops, iPods and other portable devices. Finally, the Hitman: Unrated Special Edition Blu-ray Disc (SRP $39.98) will include all of the above bonus content on one Blu-ray Disc, along with a standard DVD disc that includes the Digital Copy version. Audio on the Blu-ray will be English DTS HD 5.1, along with French DTS 5.1 and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1.
