The Mist arrives 25 March!!! (Date has changed)

"Fango got the word that The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment will issue Frank Darabont's THE MIST to DVD March 18, in both a two-disc Collector's Edition priced at $34.98 and a single disc that'll retail for 29.97. Look for more details at this site shortly."

All over this one on release day. One of my favorites of 07!

Awesome news. I wonder if any kind of extended cut is planned? I'd love to see more of this film considering it's one of the best King adaptations out there. 2-disc for me.

The Mist is still playing at a local cheap theater, and I've really been wanting to go see this. The strange thing is that I seem to remember hearing a bunch of negative buzz about the film when it first came out, but now all that I can find is generally positive words. Maybe I was in a daze or something.

Regardless, I'll be getting the DVD for sure. Thanks for the news link!

Weinstein had better get off their asses and release something. This is a good title as any.

Great movie, had to leave the first time I tried to see it because people were being obnoxious, but this is one of my favorites of the year.

Wonder if they'll have an option to see it in black and white like Daramount said in a Rue Morgue issue?

This movie has gotten pretty mixed reviews, but I'll still pick up the two-disc Collector's Edition on Match 18th. Stephen King's movie adaptations have been pretty hit or miss, thus far. Of course brilliant Stephen King adaptations like The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption make up for the mediocrities.

Any movie with the criminally underrated Andre Braugher is worth as least one look.

That release window keeps shrinking and shrinking. Surprised it wasn't available by Christmas. Some day maybe it will!

I too missed this in the theater and look forward to picking up the 2D set.

This was an AMAZING film.
My third favorite of 07, behind The Assassination of Jesse James and There Will Be Blood.

2-disc without a doubt.

Well, The Mist is from the same director who did both of those movies.

Agreed. It has Andre Braugher, directed by Frank Databont and it's one of my favorite King stories. I'll be getting it for sure. I just hope they announce an HD version.

A definite buy (HD/BD version, that is). Best King adaptation since Green Mile.

Spoiler:
I almost saw this AFTER No Country for Old Men, as in minutes later. I don't regret my decision after that ending!

I'll be sure to get the 2 disc. I missed this in the theater, but love King's work as well as Frank Databont.

Frank Darabont has yet to disappoint me. This being the most creepy of ALL King novellas that I read as a teen, I am looking forward to what the director of Shawshank Redemption does with the novella that I just can't shake.
