Features announced:

The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment have announced the DVD specs for THE MIST, which arrives in a two-disc Collector?s Edition and a single-disc release March 25. The most unusual feature on the double-disc set is an exclusive black-and-white presentation of the film (as befits its retro-monster-movie veneer) to go with the full-color widescreen transfer (with Dolby 5.1 sound). Other extras that will appear on both editions are:

? Audio commentary by writer/director Frank Darabont
? Eight deleted scenes with optional commentary
? A Conversation With Stephen King and Frank Darabont featurette

Exclusive to the Collector?s Edition are:
When Darkness Came: The Making of THE MIST featurette
Taming the Beast: Shooting Scene 35 featurette
Monsters Among Us: A Look at the Creature FX featurette
The Horror of It All: The Visual FX of THE MIST featurette
Drew Struzan: Appreciation of an Artist featurette

Retail price will be $32.95 for the Collector?s Edition and $29.95 for the single disc; cover art is coming soon. ?Michael Gingold

*sigh* No HD release = no sale. Just a Netflix rental. You're losing money on this, Weinstein...

I'll have to rent this one for sure... Loved the movie, but until Weinstein gets their HD act together, I'm not buying.

I kind of want to see this because it does look interesting, but I have been turned off of watching anything King related since watching Dreamcatcher which is in my top 3 worst movies I have ever seen. Should I bother or is it not worth my time?

One of my favorites from '07, as well as all time. Definite buy.

1408 was a recent King project and I quite liked it. Of course, The John Cusack involvement helped its case. I haven't seen this, so I can't help you out here.

I haven't seen this yet either, but I really want to because it is a collaboration between King and Frank Darabont which usually means good things ex.) The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile.

I'll wait. I skipped 1408 to wait for the HD version, and thanks to Xploited, it's on the way.

For those of you who haven't seen this film, yes it is very much worth watching (and owning). Probably the best Stephen King adaptation ever. This was my favorite movie of last year by far. I can't praise this film enough. If you liked the other Darabont/King movies, then you'll like this.

This is a day one 2 disc purchase for me.

Rolling Stone doesn't know shit and the fact that they picked it for the worst horror of the year just prooves it even more. The Mist was the best horror film of last year, followed by Grindhouse. The worst was probably Halloween, or Hills Have Eyes 2.

I fucking HATED Dreamcatcher and LOVED The Mist, so I'd say it is definitely worth your time.

Didn't bother me at all. Knowing what was out there in that mist, it's almost owrse having to guess what did happen to him. You know it wasn't pretty!

I'm very curious about this b&w version included on the 2-disc set. Sounds like an interesting idea, although I don't know if I could watch the entire film like that.

So no HD version? Weak sauce. Netflix wins again.

Well, it's definitely better than DREAMCATCHER, but besides the cheering rally here in this thread, THE MIST did receive very mixed reviews. And I assume the people who didn't care for the film just don't bother clicking on this thread to comment on the release date. Personally, I found the film to be pretty weak with a ridiculous ending that contradicts everything the characters were about. The CGI monsters were unconvincing as well. I'd say netflix it and give it a chance, though. You may love it. You may hate it.
