I was on one, but apparently in the upgrade from 2.x to 3.0, they reset contributors or something....I'm no longer on the title I contributed for :( (which was the upc and writeup, though i never contributed a cover). In fact the overview still has my typo from when I originally contributed it.

May I ask why? I don't understand the allure of DVDAff, it falls hort of both DVDSpot & DVDProfiler. I know some people prefer it, but I'm just curious of the reason(s).

Another DvdSpot addict here. I can't imagine ever using something better.

I'll give another vote to DVD Spot, which I've used almost since its inception. I've done DVDaf, DVD Profiler, Guzzlefish and a few others, but Spot has been the overall best.

For the freebie factor, been using DVDSpot for quite some time. Just recently, though, I started using DVD Profiler and have enjoyed it enough to cough up the $30. Hey, it's a lifetime purchase, including upgrades, etc. FAR better looking than the MS Word database I created from scratch.

Like Deputy Dave, I also take pleasure in having made many contributions to DVDSpot's database. I'm sure I'll do the same over at Profile if necessary.

is there one i can buy in stores? like DVD Profiler

GenPion 12-26-07 02:52 AM

I really enjoy using DVD Aficionado. I feel like it suits my basic needs, the layout looks nice, and it is easy and quick to add titles to my lists. I would choose this site over all others.

Any particular reason why it has to be in store? Just wondering, as I've never seen DVD organizing (sorry, I meant orangizing) software in Best Buy or places like that.

With DVD Profiler, there's no disc to purchase. You can use the program for free, but with limitations after you've entered 50 titles. For thirty bucks, you purchase the program and have full usage of it, plus any updates in the future as well.

Been using Movie Collector and i like the way it handles the print list of movies. But anyways that's my vote for a paid one.

How is going to a store easier than online?

You can purchase it and have it up in running in minutes, all while in your Christmas jammies.

lacubs 12-26-07 02:46 PM

can anyone walk me tho buying it becuase all i see is a link to paypal http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/BuyNow.aspx

macnorton 12-26-07 02:56 PM

DVDPedia for me (I am a Mac guy). It has the iTunes GUI (graphical user interface for you non-techs at there), bar code scanner capability, export to almost any format and best of all free updates.

If you want to see how the export looks, check out my sig (either link).

I was a DVDProfiler user for a few years but didn't want to pay the $30 to upgrade. I just started using DVDSpot a few days ago and I really like it. I like the custom filters you can set up. It was easy to import my profiler collection into spot via CSV file. So far it's gets my recommendation for a good free online DVD organizer.

Mikael79 12-26-07 11:48 PM

My vote goes to DVD Spot.

I tried to go purchase it, but said I already have the unlimited registration and to fire up a new account if I wanted to buy another one. A bit more than I need to do...

What would the problem be in using PayPal? I've started using it on a more regular basis, so that PayPal is the only one with credit card info...you don't end up giving it to every site you purchase from. Kinda convenient!

pridesticks06 01-05-08 09:56 PM

*Raises hand for DVDSpot* I use it and I really like it. I haven't finished putting in my collection yet but I really like it's features.
