Online DVD orangizers?

I need some good websites that allow you to organize your dvds?

RobCA 12-22-07 05:27 PM

I use DVDSpot and love it.

Rob

EdTheRipper 12-22-07 05:39 PM

Same as Rob. Big DVD Spot fan here.

digitalmanAZ 12-22-07 05:52 PM

DVD Profiler, well worth the $30 for larger collections.

You could probably use this, not sure if it's got an online component..

Second DVDProfiler, especially if you want offline capability as well. My collection's not all that large, but it was still worth the thirty bucks.

islandclaws 12-22-07 06:26 PM

Another DVD Spot lover here. IMO it's the best site for cataloging and maintaining your collection. Plus, you get stats on your collection like top actors, directors, most collected year, etc. It's a great site.

cdoug57 12-22-07 09:02 PM

Another vote for DVD Spot.

Why would you like things turned orange?

Trevor 12-22-07 09:10 PM

DVD Spot here as well.

DVDsAreMyLIFE 12-22-07 10:05 PM

I vote for DVDAF, big community, basic and easy to use.

I wanted orange. The machine gave me lemon-lime. It KNOWS I like orange!

I'd suggest Delicious Library, if you have a Mac, BUT you said online organizer, and DL2 is never fucking coming out.

When and if I switch to Mac I will jump on DL, it looks like the best program. Until then DVDSpot is my clear choice. It's free and now does everything I want. I have even overcome my biggest problem with DVDSpot and have a printed full collor report of my collection with DVD covers included.

tdoane78 12-23-07 10:37 AM

Another vote for DVDProfiler -- been using it since the original version. Love it!

Biased seen as I'm an editor there but DVDSpot.

I also use Profiler as a back up and for being offline. Used to use DVDaf but I prefer something that looks good and has more than the basic cover and very very little info.

benh911 12-23-07 06:44 PM

I have DVDProfiler and love it. Worth the $30.

ParadiseVendors 12-24-07 01:55 AM

i have tried them all, and think that DVDaf is the best.

Pega29 12-24-07 03:48 AM

Another vote for DVDSpot. I have been using it for a while now, and think its easy to use.

Star Wars Guy 12-24-07 06:52 AM

Started with DVD Profiler, now an avid user of DVD Spot!

Trevor 12-24-07 08:28 AM

Tally so far FWIW:

Spot - 9
Profiler - 4
AF - 2

But OP, for more comments, check the other threads Scott linked, as there really are dozens of threads about this topic.

Sabrett 12-24-07 10:40 AM

Another vote for DVDSpot...tried others and always come back to DVDSpot

Celpacius 12-24-07 11:01 AM

That's because you didn't add them.

I'm trying to get into the habit of adding any DVDs that aren't in the database immediately.

 I used to wait and hope but recently I’ve added a couple and as nerdy as it sounds there is always a little glow of pride when I see my name on the bottom of an entry as the contributor.

tonyc3742 12-24-07 04:03 PM

I was on one, but apparently in the upgrade from 2.x to 3.0, they reset contributors or something....I'm no longer on the title I contributed for :( (which was the upc and writeup, though i never contributed a cover). In fact the overview still has my typo from when I originally contributed it.

acubfaninmd 12-24-07 04:30 PM

another vote for dvd spot

May I ask why? I don't understand the allure of DVDAff, it falls hort of both DVDSpot & DVDProfiler. I know some people prefer it, but I'm just curious of the reason(s).

advdfreak 12-25-07 03:51 AM

Another DvdSpot addict here. I can't imagine ever using something better.

MovieExchange 12-25-07 12:59 PM

I'll give another vote to DVD Spot, which I've used almost since its inception. I've done DVDaf, DVD Profiler, Guzzlefish and a few others, but Spot has been the overall best.

harpo787 12-25-07 08:20 PM

For the freebie factor, been using DVDSpot for quite some time. Just recently, though, I started using DVD Profiler and have enjoyed it enough to cough up the $30. Hey, it's a lifetime purchase, including upgrades, etc. FAR better looking than the MS Word database I created from scratch.

Like Deputy Dave, I also take pleasure in having made many contributions to DVDSpot's database. I'm sure I'll do the same over at Profile if necessary.

lacubs 12-26-07 01:32 AM

is there one i can buy in stores? like DVD Profiler

GenPion 12-26-07 02:52 AM

I really enjoy using DVD Aficionado. I feel like it suits my basic needs, the layout looks nice, and it is easy and quick to add titles to my lists. I would choose this site over all others.

Any particular reason why it has to be in store? Just wondering, as I've never seen DVD organizing (sorry, I meant orangizing) software in Best Buy or places like that.

With DVD Profiler, there's no disc to purchase. You can use the program for free, but with limitations after you've entered 50 titles. For thirty bucks, you purchase the program and have full usage of it, plus any updates in the future as well.

No, I don't think so.

atreyurock 12-26-07 02:14 PM

Been using Movie Collector and i like the way it handles the print list of movies. But anyways that's my vote for a paid one.

You can purchase it and have it up in running in minutes, all while in your Christmas jammies.

lacubs 12-26-07 02:46 PM
