That being said, I thought Bug & Wind chill have to be two of the worst films I have seen all year.

You should see more movies then. BUG wasn't anything I'd be interested in returning to, but it was a pretty involving and effective piece of work. And WIND CHILL was the best small budget horror movie I've seen in years.

I just watched BOY EATS GIRL, and it was incomprehensible. I guess it's an Irish film that tries to sort of blend the Dawson's Creek 90210 genre with zombies. A good idea, but the teenagers are in their 40's and it's a mess in every way imaginable. Weird.

The Kubrick Collection was fantastic, with the huge caveat that Barry Lyndon was not remastered for the set. Major disappointment.

Well, it's not a nice composition, made worse by the fact that all the photos of actors' heads are in varying levels of sharpness and quality. It looks cobbled together in five minutes. They might've been better off not teasing us with a microscopic version of the beautiful poster.

It pains me to say that two Warner Bros titles (the perennial favorite for best studio) has put out the two most disappointing releases of 2007:

Poltergeist
Twilight Zone: The Movie

Both were a long time coming and we just flat-out deserved more. The 'extra' feature on "Poltergeist" was crap. I own the "Ghost Hunters" DVDs for a reason. I wanted the "Poltergeist" DVD to touch on the trials and tribulations of the film itself. There could have at least been an audio commentary.

Both films obviously had some pretty serious issues going on during their production and long after that, but to mask this from the viewer (especially the viewers who already KNOW quite a bit about it) is pretty chicken-shit on the part of Warner Bros.

Two of my favorite films from 2006 were very disappointing in the 'extras' department. I don't typically dig into extras, but when it's a favorite film, I'm keen to know more and they are

Little Children - I bought it, returned it, then bought it again (had to have the film in my collection sans any extras :()
Notes on a Scandal - very thin extras - left me cold

I have to go with Flash Gordon Savior of The Universe Edition.
While it was great to finally have an anamorphic transfer, the lack of quality extras was a big dissapointment,

Yup, that one bothered me too. Barry Lyndon is my favorite Kubrick movie.

The Good German definitely needs to be counted among the worst DVD releases this year as well.
The Good Shepard also deserves to be on the list.
