I hate to say this, considering I've seen so many movies, but I have never seen this movie. But, dammit, I keep thinking I need to pick up this awesome set as a blind buy!

What do you mean scratches? From dust?

If the slipcase didn't have the breakdown on what was inside the case, along with pictures of everything laid out on display, I'd consider the slipcase as disposable. But I like the info on the back of it. I also like that the sides say "Blade Runner" in red.
Most collectors would place more value on this unit with the case than without the case.

I do believe you're right about the date in the movie (probably why I didn't pick up on the # earlier). But it is the date in the original book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" (Philip K. Dick, (c)1968).
Also, the second # is 10,000, not 100,000.
Did they make different sized runs for each format?

Storing, ie. you can't flatten it quite so easily, and disposing...well, cardboard can be recycled or even just burned. Plastic cannot.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the slipcover...

Finally found a copy at Borders. Mine is #072528 (standard DVD version). This is easily the most amazing DVD release of any single motion picture ever. Just amazing.

Strangely enough, despite getting caught by customs, my Blade Runner briefcase arrived without any customs charges.
Which is very odd as while there is a sort of limit (Anything less than 45 euros will pass through since the customs do not make under 10 euro charges), the price of the set (53+ euros) exceeded that.
