Warner's been doing less and less commentaries on their dvds over the last few years - there was some research that showed less than 1% of people that purchased a dvd listened to the commentary, so they feel that it's just not worth it - not even as a bullet-point on the back of the box.

If I were these companies I wouldn't put any extras because people are never happy!
Should be best picture & sound quality that people should be into & most are!
Just the online forums are the ones that are addicted beyond words could say!

I am also. The most important thing to me is picture and sound quality and having the full, complete movie. With all the DVD's that I have ( between 5-600 ) I have watched about 2 commentaries the whole time.( That doesn't mean that they should never have commentaries, other people like them and that's fine, I just skip over them ) Now, I do like other special features though. Esp. with the historical war movies and such. Any historical features they can add on a DVD makes it better for me.

all of WB's recent transfers (including 'Bonnie and Clyde' and the upcoming Dirty Harry movies and 'Cool Hand Luke') have been 4K transfers down rezzed to 2K (standard dvds and Bluray/HD) - Warner's is the best studios putting in the time and money in getting these movies seen in the possible way.

I agree this should have a commentary, and I don't even listen to most commentaries. It just seems like an oversight, and it can't be that expensive to do one with Arthur Penn, Warren Beatty, or someone connected to the movie (I'd settle for Gene Hackman or Michael J. Pollard). I also think the extras have a little too much about the real Bonnie and Clyde, especially given the liberties this movie takes with their story.

So the special features on the Ultimate Collection are the same as the Blu-Ray right? It looks to me like you get the 36 page book as part of the packaging. So you don't get the reproduction of the press book, that's fine.
Does anyone know if the poster offer is in the blu-ray? I'd definitely want to mail away for that poster.

Bump. Come on people. It comes out next week.
Anyone think the highdef version might not be very worthwhile? They weren't able to produce a new surround remaster for the film so it just has a mono track.
With these poster offers do you need a UPC cutout or proof of purchase OR do you just need the form and the money? If it's the latter I assume I can get a copy somewhere, but if it's the former, I don't know if there are going to be differences enough between the Ultimate Collection and the Blu-Ray to buy the highdef one.

Is it confirmed that there is really no commentary? The Warners Gangsters Vol. 3 press release didn't say anything about commentaries either, and lo and behold, every film has one. If they can scrounge up a commentator for MAYOR OF HELL...

I was able to pick up the Ultimate Edition today from Borders...somebody must have put it out early. Very nicely put together. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it all over the weekend. I've been looking forward to this since its announcement.

I'm rather confused. The review of the Blu-Ray at highdefdigest says it only has a mono soundtrack, while the review of the Ultimate Edition here claims its has a stereo track. So, what the fuck?
