Excenllent!

Another title I have been holding off buying the current edition.

Hopefully Warren Beatty will participate in the extra.

Finally! This flick is fantastic...but not for the violence. Been waiting for this one for almost a year. Must buy for me. The ultimate edition sounds cool.

chris_sc77 12-03-07 09:53 AM

Sad that there is no commentary. Still this looks like a good release.

JOE29 12-03-07 10:35 AM

Great! I held off on buying the current release for the SE. The History Channel feature sounds great. I'll be getting this on release day.

basaro 12-03-07 10:48 AM

I've been wating for this, finally. Also very interested about Warner's 85th Anniversary release plans too.

onebyone 12-03-07 11:59 AM

Thank goodness. This movie deserves a great edition.

leacha 12-03-07 12:49 PM

I'm glad I held off buying this

yay

NoirFan 12-03-07 04:46 PM

Too bad there's no commentary, but looks like a nice SE nevertheless.

mikelowry 12-03-07 05:42 PM

A commentary is quite essential for great movies like this. I think I'll pass.

hotsexyboi 12-03-07 06:57 PM

Finally a edition it so rightfully deserves! I will be so glad to get rid of the stupid snapper I have it in and get the good edition

MTRodaba2468 12-04-07 01:30 AM

I figured that this would be a title that would get an SE eventually, so I've been holding off.

I'm glad that I did.

jrsl76 12-04-07 09:40 AM

2 words: F-in' finally!

Geofferson 12-04-07 09:50 AM

Long overdue...about time.

wm lopez 12-04-07 10:15 AM

No current Warren Beatty or Faye Dunaway interviews?

crazyrabbits 12-05-07 07:28 PM

I think I might just spring for this. The Troy UCE had incredibly beautiful packaging and extras, even if the film wasn't what I expected. I can even show this to my grandmother too, and she rarely watches DVD's. Excellent!

Ultimate Edition is an easy choice for me on this one.

But add me to the list of people disappointed with the lack of a commentary track. Surely there was a critic or film scholar they could have gotten to record one, considering how important the film is and how highly regarded it is among so many film historians.

It's usually not a matter of having resources... it's a matter of how much of a budget the DVD producer has to work with. As with any budget, you can't get everything you'd want and decisions have to be made.

You can never make everyone happy.

Count me in as happy that it's coming out.

I'm disappointed by the lack of commentary, but that's not enough for me to forgo one of the essential films of the '60s.

Rypro 525 12-06-07 12:42 AM

We need a full screen version damnit! (anyone who has seen the full screen version would know why)

Tom Woodward 12-06-07 07:57 AM

I've just posted the artwork here:

Damn, that artwork is awesome.

The ultimate edition looks sick. It will be mine.
